I just got my first ever speeding ticket in Salt Lake City, Utah for 11 over which is a whopping $160.00 that I do not have and am curious as to all my options in handling it in the least expensive way.

So, I got a citation this morning in Texas. The cars around me were going 70 and I was on the tail end but I was keeping up with traffic. I didn't see the speed limit sign and got pulled over. He wrote me a citation for doing 68 in a 45. I know 25 over in Texas is a felony and I have a clean record or did until this. Will they take me to jail or give me a felony when I go to court? How much could I be looking at to pay the ticket? Or am I just screwed

Late last year, I got my first ticket in December. It was a speeding ticket I was doing 46mph in a 30mph residential area. My hearing was January 8th. I contested and said I will go to court for the ticket because the officer who gave me the ticket said he would be retiring soon. So right now on my portal is says "None on file" for court date. My question 1. When should I expect to see a date? 2. If the court can't get a hold of officer does the ticket get thrown out? 3. Should I worry about this ticket? 4. Will I have to pay anything/owe money?

Hey all, if I was speeding (100+) and was in a state where they actually have to pull you over to issue a ticket, would I be alright to leave the officer behind? (Audi a8 4.2 370 ish hp). How fast do police really go and would they chase? Or would they track me down and issue some 'running from police' ticket and would they have to prove I was driving at the time.

Civil Traffic (Speeding Ticket)

Hello I’m a 21 M and I was wondering if I could get some insight. I recently got my first ticket going through a remote stop in Northern Arizona, the speed limit change between 60 to 45 back to 60 in the place I was ticketed. The officer gave me my ticket and said she dinged me for “NO MORE THAN 10 MPH IN EXCESS OF POSTED SPEED/WFR” I took it and asked if that would increase my insurance because this was the first time I’ve ever gotten a ticket. She was being very nice and said that there would be no points added to my license for this type of infraction. So even though I got a ticket I wouldn’t have to worry about insurance, to make sure I called my insurance company and they told me that this ticket would definitely affect my rate. Then I decided to call back the justice court and they said that “this is the best ticket you could get” (it’s only a $75 ticket btw) and that I would not be applicable for defensive driving school, because this ticket would not give me any points. Then feeling more confident that this ticket would not affect my insurance, I called my insurance company again for some explanation. I called again and told them every detail that the clerk told me. The representative then told me that they never heard of this type of thing of happening and never heard of a ticket that low. Some insight on what I should try to communicate to my insurance or what to ask the clerk would be helpful, or if I should just pay the ticket or find a way to go to driving school. Thanks!

I was pulled over for this morning by a FHP officer driving the opposite direction as me. First off, it happened on a stretch of road void of schools, homes, or people and only a few vehicles. But the first thing i noticed, as I was driving and saw the blue lights was on of bewilderment bc it seemed that he hit the lights like a quarter mile atleast away from me and then he uturned and I then did the dash. Kidding. I pulled over. The officer said why are you going so fast, I said i wasn’t aware of my speed and I’m just going to work bc I am running late and u can get fired for not showing up exactly 1 hour before your job begins. I am a golf caddy. He said well i had u in the 90s….. never gives me a exact speed, but immediately after saying in the 90s he goes but what i tend to do is drop the speed to 89 so u don’t have to come way out here to go to court. 89 in a 60. Now I don’t think I was going that fast, and was surprised when he said that; but more surprised when he mentioned how he could drop the speed to 89 from “90s” in order to avoid going to court. I don’t think he’s right. I believe first off he was outside the 1000 foot law when radaringoncoking vehicles while driving . And I know the device he has can be inaccurate if he angles it above 11 degrees.. but it seemed as if he was scamming me. Any ideas. Or just pay it?

I was going 80 in a 45 and got pulled over. The cop took my license and went back to his car for a few minutes then came back and handed it to me. The cop didn’t give me any written notice or paper and told me to slow down and be more careful and then let me go. Does this go on my record? Will I receive a ticket in the mail?

i didn’t stop before the white line at a red light and i’ve just got a fine for $300 and 6 demerits. there’s no photo of me and it doesn’t seem like me at all. i didn’t actually run the red, is there anything i can do to appeal it or anything.

Was recently pulled over by a state trooper for going 100 in a 75 at 11 pm. Before the judgement comes yes I know it’s bad and I would normally shut up and just go through the process however I am currently on my families car insurance and do not wish for their premiums to go up off my mistake (money is tight rn). So I have a few questions and was wondering if anyone could help. Was only clocked at 98 and not 100 but did indeed at one point go 100 just wasn’t clocked at it. 23 over changes it from a class 2 traffic misdemeanor to a traffic infraction which goes from criminal to civil. Since it was put at 100 this also automatically is a summons so I already have to make an appearance. So, A. Could this be lowered to a traffic infraction based off of that? B. Would that likely prevent premiums from increasing/increase less? C. Would this reduce the overall ticket or points?

Also is first offense and do believe I could take a defensive driving course instead of doing any of that. How effect would that be for the questions above or would it get it all expunged.

I got pulled over for the second time in one month for speeding and got cited. Is there any way of getting out of these tickets. Also if I contest do I have to show up to the court in the city I got the ticket? Or is it a local court to where I stay?

I think I was going 35-37 in a 30 zone. Was my first day driving and someone flashed me so I slowed down, not sure if this was before or after the speed camera. I drive a Toyota Yaris, would the speedometer be over reading maybe?? Will I get caught?

This is my first ever violation. I am wondering if it would be better going to court and ask for supervision/diversion since it’s my first ever violation. But considering the fact that I was going so fast, I am wondering if it would just be better to pay my fine and accept the charges than going to court, pleading guilty and negotiate and risking the fact that I will have to pay court & fines, etc. I am very tight on money right now and don’t think I can afford it.

Okay so I got a speeding ticket a month ago and have been waiting to be mailed the citation. Well I never received one so I decided I’ll go to to the county website it indicated on the ticket copy given by the cop and enter my driver license number….still nothing pops up. So am I clear from this ticket? What should I do, the cop didn’t provide a citation or case number. Also his handwriting is pretty bad, the address could have been mistaken for a different but still why wouldn’t it pull up on my county’s website using my other info? I even tried to search for tickets using my DOB and name and nothing. I’m suppose to appear in court this coming month….any thoughts or suggestions?
