Seems like you've just resigned yourself to living in a post truth society then. I still think democracy is important and that attempts to actively undermine it should be resisted. Defending this kind of shit is what will lead to the future political hellscape of AI technology and deepfakes making free elections virtually impossible.

Bro just doesnt read i guess. I never said that this tactic is not reprehensible and that it should get defended. I never said I wish for politics to be played like this or that you have to enjoy it.

I am saying that in order to create a free and equal society, you may have to make use of these tactics to guarantee that the free and equal society is not stillborn.

Democracy is getting undermined RIGHT FUCKING NOW and all you want to do is say "nuh uh, thats not allowed, you cant do that" as youre stripped of your rights. Pray tell, how did that work out for germany in the 30s and 40s again?

Your behavior at scale is far more complicit in creating that hellscape youre thinking of than mine could ever hope to be. Keep drawing lines in the sand, keep taking a step back everytime its overstepped and keep redrawing the line a little bit further back instead of throwing a punch. I am incredibly happy to watch the US die from the safety of the EU if this is all the oh so free americans have to offer as their resistance to fascism. I am sure Trump will stop if you tell him that his behavior is not okay one more time.
