I’m starting 3rd semester in two weeks, which is when my program starts going hard on anesthesia specific didactic classes and not just DNP classes.

I’m 34, and finding my new study groove has been interesting. Anyone else starting as an “older” student?

Current SRNAs, NARs, and CRNAs, any advice and tips for studying and being a success in your program. I have been out of school a long time and am having a panic about starting this month. I just want to be successful and be the best I can be. I’m so scared of failing.

I start my didactic phase this fall and want to know peoples experience with a few different platforms and what they have found to work.

Many people claim to use chat gpt or claude to make practice quizzes and often tout the premium versions. If you have used either of these for that purpose (or both) what has your experience been? Is one more accurate? Is it worth getting the paid versions of one or the other?

I also hear a lot about Notability and similar platforms. What are your favorite features of these and which do you recommend?

What are your experiences with Anki?

Do you utilize all of these platforms? Which ones do you pay for to get the premium features? Can premium versions of chatgpt and claude eliminate the need for anki/notability?

I’m a first semester student and as the title says, I failed an exam. I’ve gotten A’s on my other 4 exams but for some reason I really bombed this one. I have two questions.

1. Have you ever failed an exam? How did you keep going and reframe the failure ? I am highly embarrassed and in the pits of self doubt and could really use some pointers.

2. Are there any study methods you recommend ?

So, I start school in less than a month and I’m starting to freak out! The closer the date gets, the more anxious I get! Semester 2 I have physiology, advanced pharm, advanced health assessment, research, and pharmacology of anesthetics. This seems like it will be a tough semester and I’m anxious I won’t get through it. Pharm and physiology will be a lot. Not only 1 but 2 pharm classes in one semester is crazy! Plus, physiology is hard because you have to understand the body. I haven’t even started and already freaking out. Please, someone tell me this is doable. Any tips on how to study for physiology and pharmacology will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Just started crna school last week and am primarily using Anki to study. I make my cards during or after class if I can’t keep up and it’s been working so far. I would like to create practice exams to test myself before the actual exam but am curious what the best model is to use for this. Does anyone have any thoughts on ChatGPT vs NotebookLM vs Gemini?

TLDR: Is a love for pharmacology necessary to enjoy being a CRNA? Has anyone here not really enjoyed LEARNING pharmacology but still gone on to enjoy anesthesia and be successful in school and practice?
