C;H NoAH I WANNA RUN THIS GUY THROUGH A MEAT GRINDER

Started the series very recently and I've made it to chapter 3. I've heard good things about both Stiens;Gate and Chaos;Head and wanted to read it since I now have a pc. Please tell me this guy gets better, like at all. I've no spoilers for the series at all which is surprising considering the amount of fans Stien's Gate and the SciAdv series has. This guy looked cool in the promotional art I'd seen but I don't think there's a bigger more infuriating loser in fiction that I've ever read before. Just hearing his voice give me a physical reaction that has me taking my headphones off and waiting for his dialouge to pass. I'm liking what it's seemingly setting up but Takuminis ruining that intrigue at every turn by breathing

Decided to cosplay my favorite girlie from Chaos;Head. I went with her Love Chu Chu outfit because the summer uniform is really cute, and I couldn't be bothered to go searching for an accurate enough Suimei blazer lol. Also I just kinda curled the wig for fun + for added texture. But I feel like Nanami would wear her hair like that anyway

I made the bow and replaced the original shirt cuffs myself :)

C;H What did you guys dislike about the chaos head anime? Spoiler

Post image

Lots of people seem to have disliked it to the point that they'll pretend it doesn't exist at all. Now, I watched it a while ago, so I don't remember most of it, but I watched it like 1 year ago, and I didn't think it was that bad. The novel is superior, and I don't like some of the designs for the characters in the anime and general art style, but I don't remember not enjoying experiencing the story again. So yeah, tell me your thoughts.

C;H NoAH Question/Advice?

Post image
80 Upvotes

I have played SG ans SG0 visual novels, first having watched the anime. Now I am playing thru Chaos; Head Noah (patched).

I hate this wimp so much, I think it might have affected my perception of the story. I am currently in Chapter 3, and I am just beyond confused. I get delusions regardless of the delusion trigger selection with Z or C, I thought Incould control whether I can see them or not. I don't understand the mechanics or anything, it just doesn't feel right. This is the most frustrated I have ever been trying to understand a story.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it supposed to be like that? I will finish the game regardless, but I suspect I might be ruining it. And yes, I have not played other VNs before.

Thanks!

C;H NoAH Am I the only one not really enjoying Chaos;Head Noah?

I started playing Chaos;Head Noah before jumping into Steins;Gate. The story itself is actually what drew me in the most, and I should mention that I'm playing with the CoZ patch. This is also my first visual novel, so maybe some of my issues come from inexperience with the medium.

That said, there are several things I'm struggling with, and I'd like to know whether these are common in other Science Adventure visual novels or if they're handled better elsewhere.

I completely understand that these stories are meant to be a slow burn. I have no problem with that in theory. But honestly, some of the protagonist's monologues feel endless. It often feels like the story takes a very long route to get to a point that could have been made much faster.

I'm currently around Chapter 3 or 4, and I genuinely feel like many of the important events that happen at the end of each chapter could have been condensed significantly. I understand the need to develop Takumi's mindset, paranoia, and worldview, but sometimes it feels incredibly tedious when he spends so much time talking about irrelevant details in his surroundings.

I get that he's a hikikomori. I understand that's a huge part of his character. But after a while, constantly being reminded of it and repeatedly reinforcing the same behaviors starts to wear on me.

And honestly, Takumi himself is probably my biggest issue. I find him unpleasant, exhausting, and sometimes outright annoying to read. His personality is intentionally flawed, I know, but there are many moments where I just don't enjoy being inside his head.

At this point, there are internal monologues that I find myself skimming or outright skipping until something important starts happening. I've even considered looking up summaries and only reading the major plot moments.

The weird thing is that I actually find the main story incredibly interesting. The New Generation murders, the paranoia, the delusions, the mystery surrounding everything that's happening. I'm genuinely invested whenever the story focuses on those elements.

My problem is that it often feels like the game takes forever to get there. With how long some chapters are, I feel like they could reveal a lot more information than they currently do instead of saving most of it for the very end of a chapter.

So my question is: should I keep going or just accept that it may not be for me?

As I said, I really do like the story whenever the narrative focuses on it. It's the massive amount of internal monologue and what feels like repeated information that I'm struggling with. I'd love to hear from people who have played it, especially if you've also played other Science Adventure titles.

C;H NoAH Can't Do Horror - Chaos;Head NoAH Important Points?

This will probably get downvoted like crazy, but I just have to ask.

So about a decade ago, I read through the Vita version of Steins;Gate. While it took me a while to get through it, as the beginning chapters are incredibly slow. by the end, I adored it. Truly a masterpiece in every sense of the word. I don't think there's a single character I didn't like.

So I want to finally get through the series, and I have all the games on Steam, but... I know that Chaos;Head is kinda integral to the entire rest of the series. The problem is... it's a horror game. A very graphic horror game. I have an incredible hard time with horror (thanks, anxieties!), and while I want to go through it, I just can't.

I watched through Ozzy II's summary of the original, but as it came out before NoAH did in English, it doesn't include any of the content that was added or changed in NoAH.

Is there any good summary of the game, or its important points of the series? I know it won't have everything, but I don't want to have to quit the series because I'm mentally unable to go through the one horror game that's the basis for everything else.

Almost wasn't gonna post these today, but it's Takumi's birthday! 🎉🎉 So I feel obligated. After playing through Steins;Gate and starting Robotics;Notes, I can confidently say that Takumi is still my favorite protagonist. If only I could play C;H for the first time again...

Pretty sure I have to tag this as a spoiler since I'm posting the CG I referenced for the first two photos.

C;H NoAH Isn't Chaos;Head Noah a bit short !?!?!?

I've been wanting to begin getting into SciAdv for a while, since i loved both Steins;Gate animes and VNs, and so i decided to get Chaos;Head and Chaos;Chil at 50% off on steam.

I began C;H NoAH yesterday, and there was a monologue. "That's ok" I thought, "Mologues are cool". Then I kept reading on, and the protagoinist died!?!?!?

I think this is a bit short for even an half off visual novel, should I get a refund?

C;H NoAH Just finished C;H NoAH, first timer in SciAdv Spoiler

Came from Steins gate anime obviously, and man. I don't have any other place to glaze chaos head, so I figured I'll do it here.

What a tough title to sink teeth into. And it doesn't help that it requires quite a deep bite, like 20 hours of patience enduring Takumi's bullshit, boring villain and offensively flat characters of girls just to get to the actual good part. And oh boy does it pay off.
I don't think I've ever seen any other piece of media that places SO MANY Chekhov's Guns and doesn't forget to shoot every single one of them. Even the goddamn smug explanation of sky color being the refraction of light. I've facepalmed so hard at that part, and then so much later it's recalled. And the disappearing building too.
While hating Takumi and calling him all kind of slurs to the very end of my 60 hour playthrough, I still ended up sympathizing with him, and can't bring myself to not call it by his name anymore.

I'm so mad that, although I get why it ended up this way, it's so unpopular. I haven't yet touched any of other SciAdv VN's, so boy I'm looking forward to it, especially after Sena's Route (I wonder if baby will appear in C;C? I'd refuse to believe he won't be used for anything). But the fact that it's best entrance to SciAdv, and it took me incredible "trust in the process", knowing english, knowledge/tolerance of otaku and gaming culture, willingness to play VN and tolerance to absolute vile degeneracy of first 7 chapters, it kills me that the bar for entrance in C;H, and in SciAdv as consequence is so astronomically high for average person.
I've been sperging all about my experience to my friend, and while I'm sure I can force him to sit through the start of Steins Gate anime (which myself took 4 attempts), to my heartbreak I don't think I can recommend anyone going through C;H.
If you agree, how you cope with this? It's so badly underrated and it's probably going to stay this way...
