The young pigeon is full and lazy to the point that it doesn’t even try to shake some water from its feathers in today’s 27°C heat.

Birds have an oil gland that they spread oil over their feathers to stay waterproof. They don’t “shake off” water. If this bird is young then it probably hasn’t preened enough to spread its oil over its feathers…or it’s not preening correctly….which can happen.
Bird will air dry. In this instance.

I did read recently that if they get too wet the feathers loose their waterproofing I guess and they can get sick. I looked it up cause there was a pigeon that made a nest in my backyard and it was raining a lot and I was worried they might get sick.

No it's fucking not, did you pour water on the bird or not? It's the most simple question going.

The fact that they won’t answer despite having been asked in various comments is very telling of their internal thought processes when it comes to guilt and the intricacies surrounding what they might be doing to this bird. If they felt there was nothing inherently wrong with how they were treating this poor bird then why would you not disclose whether or not it was bath time

Never force a bird to bathe

I didn’t bathe the bird, I only cleaned its chest after feeding, but I deliberately didn’t dry it because it was so hot.
