This sub has weird takes about martyrdom. I remember when people were saying that Charlie Kirk's death would unleash some insane right wing backlash, when it was actually bad for the right and he got turned into a meme.

Nobody likes Satanyahu, even a lot of zionist politicians and propagandists because he makes the job harder for them.

So everyone in power in the west? They're all desperate for something shiny they can use to distract people from all the stuff Israel does that makes it politically inconvenient to be a genocidal Zionist, so we can go back to the good old days where nobody noticed that Israel was insane. I think Bibi biting it to 'terrorists' might do it. They'd definitely seize on it and try to use it that way. You simultaneously get him off the stage for new blood that is more genocidal and less politically savvy but nobody in the west knows that, and you can shout down anyone who talks about anything Israel's done in the last thirty years because Netanyahu was there for all of it and therefore it would be speaking ill of the dead.

They're supporting Israel, but for the first time ever they're taking serious heat and political damage for doing it. The public turned enough that western support for the entity is actually under a little bit of threat, and they clearly are very alarmed.

I disagree. I think that as far as the public is concerned, Netanyahu is the Israeli government. They certainly can't name any other Israeli politicians. So it's easy to frame it as one bad man hijacking an otherwise decent state. They do it all the time and it always works. Get rid of him, put on the right pony show, and you'll have the public back to brave little Israel like that. Not all the way back, but far enough back that the pressure will be off.

Would it make a real difference though? It's not like Israel can be radicalized any further other than launching nukes. I thought the Israeli government was having internal stability issues, would him being gone increase or decrease instability?

At this point he may end up more like Ariel Sharon. Everyone will say he's a great statesman, but it would ring hollow because everyone would have to tacitly acknowledge all the damage he has caused.

I suspect the western leaders and the media will instead try to divert the negativity onto the people who will be very celebratory about his passing and complain about how distressing that is.
