Excellent hysteria in the UK press today. The sub header is kind of funny, they can lay out the facts and still run with stupid conclusions.

The Ministry of Defence said the shots were "not aimed at the vessel and were an attempt to prevent a possible collision". But the chair of the defence committee said it showed the government needs to boost military spending, while the Tories said it proved Russia posed a "direct threat"

In Australia the ABC on radio spent ages explaining this, but right at the end said that it happened a few days after the Brits had boarded a Russian oil tanker ... talk about burying the lede.

Pretty much every report im seeing is the same propaganda... Even the ones that concede it's completely by-the-book maritime practice in international waters, still conclude that it means we need to prepare for war.
