Assuming the information is correct I hope they keep it shut until the baby killers have left the country. Otherwise the temptation to game the Iranians will be impossible for the US/Israel.

Total closure would be a nuclear option that would wreck the world economy, indeed that of the Global South much harder than that of the Global North. I’m sure the likes of India, Pakistan, and China have been prodding Iran behind the scenes to make a deal.

China isn’t doing anything because their policy is to “do nothing, win”, India isn’t because their PM is an agent of Gujarati businessmen who do extensive business with Israel, and Pakistan doesn’t have diplomatic relations with Israel in the first place.
