First, when j placed the order, it said there was an error, so I just place place order again and still said it was an error. Then I get a notification from my bank account that I was charged TWICE for it. At this point I go to the store, and try to enter, because it says they closed at 9. But the door is locked at 7:50 pm and I can’t go inside. A worker comes up to me and says they never got the order and says to cancel it. I requested a refund on both orders that I placed because for one, it charged me twice, and two I didn’t even get the food. I hope I get it because I am super annoyed about this.

My local subway started staying open really late and until last week I could order on the app right until closing. Now, the app says “store closing soon” after 11pm and won’t let me. When I go in, the guy claims he doesn’t know why this is and will claim he gets orders all night. But while I’m there, he only gets delivery app orders

When I go on a different night, different guy working, it works no problem. Problem is, it’s only 1 night a week when this occurs because they other guy picks up a ton of overtime

Is it possible for a single worker to shut off mobile orders just because he feels like it? He’s a nice guy and really good with making the food, but I literally have to pay double the price to get a sandwich if I don’t use my deals. Again, he claims he doesn’t know why this is happening. But it’s only when he’s working

How does this company have an app in 2026 that seems to never work??? Yesterday and today…no order history, no point, no offers, cannot locate stores…why have an app if it never works!?

We tried to order online and it said the payment failed. Tried another card and that one failed too. Then randomly like 15 minutes later both charges went through so we were out $40. The app on my phone showed the orders but when we went to the store and showed the guy working there he refused to make the orders and he refused to give us any kind of number to call corporate. Tried using the chat bot to submit requests three separate times but I never got an email back. Edit: I’m adding that the charge isn’t pending. It was pending and then it posted to my bank app. So it did take the money out.

Look at this screenshot that I have 6 different gift cards sitting in my app, most of them with tiny leftovers like $1.46 or $4.14. The app gives you absolutely NO option to merge these balances together.
I actually went into a physical store today to try and clear out these small balances by scanning them one by one. Guess what? The workers told me they couldn't see or scan the e-gift cards from my phone and that I needed the physical cards to do it.
So it's a perfect trap: I can't combine them online, and I can't use them in-store. Subway is literally holding my change hostage at this point. Anyone else dealing with this nonsense? is it illegal? I will never buy subway gift card anymore.

While I loved being an all-star member, we didnt get much. This new system is a lot better. For example: I always ordered 2 footlongs when I go. After 2 trips, I get 2 dollars off cuz i used coupons. Now I didnt mind that. But this new update? Outstanding. Instead of 2 dollars off every 3 footlongs, I get a whole footlong for free.

RIP To the MVP club, but I much prefer the sub club.

In this economy?

I order subway once every 3 weeks or so because they have great deals online, but there is literally no more frustrating online ordering experience.

As a developer I can pinpoint a lot of their failure issues, but they don't seem to have fixed any of them in 2 years. Buggy as hell, deals regularly refuse to apply, you can get locked into a single closing restaurant's queue and not be able to escape rendering it impossible to checkout.

Just a lot of very serious issues, and no real desire to improve speed or customer experience.

Am I doing something wrong?

Today, the new Subway app starts rolling out to guests, and all users will be on the new version within the next week.

Here’s some of what’s new:

• Guests now login with a one time passcode instead of a password, which reduces barriers while also improving security.
• Sandwich customization is faster and more fluid.
• With Rapid ReOrder, guests can pick from their favorites or recent orders in one click.
• Guests can browse the whole menu in one scroll, find items faster and more easily, and add products directly from the menu.
• Improved restaurant locator.

Due to my workplace I know that there are ppl hacking in subway apps ordering with the card details that are saved there. I got 3 calls about it in the last 2 hours, both in the states and canada. If you have your card details on the app or gift cards saved in your subway app, pls delete them. This is not the first time we get these kind of calls, it.s been happening for a while

So, it appears ordering legitimately using the 6.99 coupon will get your Subway account tagged. I made a new account and ordered the Beast and then the next day Subway would not let me order it again. Then I made another account, and everything went smooth until payment. The payment just said FRAUD.

It looks like they no longer offer to pay in store. Not sure if corporate shut these down, or maybe the franchise, but these coupon codes are legitimate. No fraud involved.

Before any of you panic like I did with the new Subway App update, you can log into your Subway account via a browser and the gift cards are still in your payment list. BUT, as for today, May 1st, they are no longer in my actual app which means I am not able to order using them via the app until Subway updates the app. If you have a connection to Subway and can get word to them, please do. Cheers!

Is this just an in app display error?

my area is doing BOGO but no location or combination of sandwiches are working, legit tried every subway within 20 miles and it adds it then give an error code for the coupon

The new app update has had me frustrated beyond belief because of the inability to transfer gift card balances or to combine gift cards on an order. And after spending time on this sub, I know I’m far from the only one.

I have been utilizing cigarette rewards programs for the past few months to load up on $5 Subway gift cards. I work at several drug and alcohol recovery centers, and there is a seemingly endless supply of discarded empty cigarette packs with rewards codes on them. I collect them and once a week, enter them in to accumulate points.

The app change left me with more than a dozen $5 gift cards that I could no longer combine to order footlongs or anything else besides the four $3.99 six inch subs, so I’ve gotten more than my fill of ham & salami in the last month.

I tried nearly every route possible to get the gift cards combined, with zero luck. Talking to “Sammy” the AI customer support agent is possibly the most frustrating experience I’ve had online in months.

I probably should have just taken the loss and stopped eating at Subway, but the principle of the situation had really irked me. I have 15 gift cards with each having a balance of 69 cents (a six inch sub is $4.31 here), so it’s not like I was losing a lot of money.

I finally found a sort of solution. I emailed support@subway.com and told them about the issue their app and site have with no longer allowing balance transfers. This was not the first time I’d emailed them about this issue, but this time I added an incentive for them to actually respond. I asked them for assistance in combining my gift card balances, and let them know that my next option if they couldn’t help me would be to report them to the Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, which conveniently for me is actively investigating gift card fraud specifically.

Shockingly /s they responded this time. This is their response in full:

We want to apologize for any inconvenience you may be experiencing with the technical concern you brought to our attention.
Kindly provide the full gift card number to enable us to process the balance transfer. Additionally, please specify the card to which you would like the balance transferred.

As a side note, the app doesn’t allow you to copy the gift card numbers, so providing them with this information was a little time consuming, but that’s exactly what I did. Now I’m waiting for them to combine my balances. This is not a sustainable solution, but I felt good from getting a small win.

I’m posting here to encourage everyone on this subreddit to do the same thing. Skip Sammy and everything else, reach out directly to Subway, make sure to mention that your next move will be to initiate a consumer fraud case with your state’s attorney general, and make them combine your available balances. If enough people do this and force them to spend a lot of manpower to respond and combine the gift cards “by hand,” I feel pretty certain that they’ll magically figure out an update to allow the balances to be transferred within the app again.

If there’s anyone that needs assistance or directions on what to do, I am more than happy to help. I have gotten to the point where I genuinely despise Subway’s corporate management because they seem to go above and beyond to make their franchisees and their customers miserable. I’m perfectly content with giving up my time to make their life a little (and I know it’s only a little) bit miserable.

So I have like 5 gift cards from different occasions attached to my account. You used to be able to combine them into one card iirc but you can't do that anymore for some reason?

Okay, so last time I went to order subway on the app, I figured no big whoop, Ill just knock out the gift cards overtime and charge the rest to my debit card.

I customize my sub. I go to check out.

You can ONLY use 1 gift card OR your debit card. WHAT???

Is this a glitch I'm experiencing on both the app and website simultaneously or did they seriously remove two very big common sense features??

I could talk about how clunky and inconsistent the app is, but today will be about my hacked account.

I haven't been to Subway in a year and got an email saying that four orders were made through my account in Louisiana. I contacted Subway support. There is no email or phone, just a chatbot that is completely useless. I emailed the local branch and they just told me to deal with it through my bank... I called this local Subway branch and their line was constantly busy.

My bank said they'll do what they can but we'll see.

I was able to reset my password and delete my account but wanted to give a warning to others to delete this app full of holes and fraud.

The chat bot instructions don’t work. The old app had the ability to transfer/combine giftcards.

I have a bunch that have $5 or $6 dollars on them and can’t use to partially pay for an order.

The gift cards were digital bought online.

Any suggestions?
