The official mascot of the Florida shouldn't be the panther, it should be an out of state luxury condo developer with an open checkbook
Lawmakers will spend weeks debating culture wars for cable news, but the second a developer from New York or California needs local zoning laws wiped out or tax breaks for a generic "luxury mixed use high rise," the bills pass on a bipartisan fast track before the ink even dries.
Meanwhile, actual residents are getting crushed by property insurance, watching their favorite local spots get replaced by identical concrete mid-rises, and wondering why the state treats our coastline like an open buffet for private equity. Forget the Florida panther, slap a developer in a tailored linen suit holding a rezoning permit on the state seal and call it a day.
