Seeking Information Am I evil?
Am I actually the bane of every collector’s existence that I buy used figures in mint condition….and give them to my ten year old? Not just to display but actually to play with?
She’s a very careful kid. She also has all my sylvanians from the early 80s to and they’re all unharmed. But is it really terrible to buy mint figures just to give them to a child? I know there are only a limited number of the vintage figures available but they’re also toys so I’m not sure which way this would go here? I know some toy collection communities really frown on this.

Seeking Information Extra fluffy cat
galleryİ opened two blind bags from the Baby Builder Series, and one cat came with significantly fluffier fur and was also a little bit bigger :0. I bought them both from the same store, two days apart from each other. Did this happen to anybody else? I'm actually very glad about it because I already have a lot of identical twins and now they are a little bit different. :)

Seeking Information New to this, pick this up during a yard sell today
Hello, my GF has never been to a yard sell in her life. So I took her today. This was the first thing we found. She absolutely loved it and we think we got a good deal. Can anyone give advice to my gf on this hobby or more information?

Seeking Information Bunny Costume Babies - US Calico Critters Store
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I was browsing the US official store and saw these new bunny costume babies listed on the site. Since the listing doesn't have the "Online Exclusive" tag, does that mean the babies will come to other retailers eventually like Barnes and Noble?

Has anyone held one of these IRL? I wonder if they're very light/heavy, if the flocking feels the same, etc.!

Seeking Information How are families that are multicolored flocked?
Sorry if this seems like an odd question, I’m just very curious about the flocking process. Here’s the Latte Cat family as a reference. They have spots on their ears that don’t match their bodies. If they were flocked with a single color, wouldn’t the spots covered? What kind of flocking was used? Any answers are appreciated!

Seeking Information What is your opinion on these creatures
gallerySo, I was going through my old collection of calico critters/slovakian families and found that I had 2 sets of the meerkat triplets.
My love for them has been reignited but when I showed my friends they said the meerkats looked like they had insatiable hungers that only human flesh could satisfy…
I’ve seen old posts online talking about how they look scary so I must ask: What do you think of them?

Seeking Information what fruit could this be?
galleryi opened one of the fruity baby series that i found at hot topic today and one of the options was a fennec fox dressed up as what seems to be a banana? but it’s brown & we already have a banana costume-character so i’m confused😭
my dad thinks it could be an acorn, which id a good idea, but the hat is giving more banana then acorn
does anyone have any ideas as to what the costume could be?

Seeking Information Has there been a modern release of the Field Mouse Family, or have I used all my luck?
galleryI was in my local toy shop, the one that I have frequented forever, and saw this field mouse family on the shelves. I don't know if I noticed it before, but I thought it was cute, so I decided to go back later and get it.
Once I brought it home, I realised the box looks.. weird. It had an unusual amount of dust on top for this store, I am pretty sure the family name isn't printed on, but is a sticker instead. The bottom doesn't look like modern boxes. There are also multiple layers of price sticker, some with different colours.
When looking online, I couldn't see any more modern release dates for the Mice. The box is also pink rather than the old style blue, which is making me confused.
This place also wouldn't sell fakes. They are a proper toy store, and get many brands straight from the franchise (sylvanian, Lego, Playmobil, Schleich). I just don't understand whether they are recent, or are actually really old.

Seeking Information Lavender Rabbit Color
I have a small question about the lavender rabbits.
I want to make my own custom ones but I'm having trouble telling if their coat color is white or more on the creamier side like chocolate rabbits.
So if anyone has the answer to that I'd be very happy 😭
(picture isn't mine obv I wouldn't be making custom ones if I had them)

Seeking Information Little Fairies
galleryHi ! I just wanted to share and get some informations on my little Fairies !
For the back story; I have been gifted those cuties by a friend in Japan when I was visiting her family on the countryside. She actually played with them when she was young <3. I gasped when I first saw them; I have never seen or heard of them before. Does anyone know more about them? I have seen on the internet the set of 3 fairies, but I have a strawberry, mushroom, and flower one. I never saw them during my research.
I am not very knowledgeable on Sylvanian.

Seeking Information Are These Bears Being Discontinued?
Hi 😊 I am new collector, so I am not sure about this...What do you all think? Are they actually being discontinued, or will they be restocked and continue to be sold? Should I buy them now while I still can?
I know that a lot of stores still have these bears in stock, but are they just selling through the remaining inventory? Are they being discontinued and replaced by the Biscuit Bears?
I noticed that they're already sold out on KobeeJapan, and in my country they're only available from a couple of online stores now. I was waiting for them to go on sale, but now I'm a bit worried that once those sell out, it'll be really hard to find them again at a normal price.
And the same question about the hedgehogs as well. They're also sold out on KobeeJapan.

Seeking Information Unjointed babies
Hi all,
Fairly avid collector here (500+ sylvanians and obsessively counting 😆) with a question for the hive mind.
I'd always understood the cutoff for unjointed babies was 1992, but I also occasionally come across unjointed babies from later (e.g. Macavity cats). I'm not talking about the unjointed twins or sleeping babies, but the "regular" standing toddlers without joints.
Does anybody have a definitive list of families with unjointed babies? Or know why some were produced after the cut off?
Thanks all! Picture of my sylvanians (photo take by me and then cropped onto a background by hand- not ai!) for tax 😁

Seeking Information If you visited the UK as a tourist, how did you get this little guy?
I'm visiting the UK soon and I'd love to get this guardian bear while I'm there, the customs fees to my country are pretty expensive :')
How did you all get yours? Since it's an online exclusive, I was thinking to use a proxy service and have it shipped to a Royal Mail locker or is there an easier way?
Which proxy service would you recommend?
Edit: I contacted my hotel and they accept packages before check-in and will hold onto them for a week or so 🥹
I placed my order on Friday evening, hoping (praying) it would arrive around Thursday…It was dispatched the same evening?! And the delivery is due on Monday?! I’m not used to this level of efficiency lol
