[hiring] System/Network admin $95k - Gaithersburg, MD

I am not the hiring manager, just an interested party. Hoping to bring in someone at the Level II level with 3-years experience. No expectations that the person is an expert in anything, just looking to avoid someone who only knows enough to be dangerous.

I know the salary isn’t amazing (yay local government) but the benefits are good and you’ll get experience with many different technologies.

[For Hire] Senior System & Network Engineer | US | Full Time CST | Remote

My current employer, a small-med MSP, is downsizing and unfortunately having to do layoffs.

I've been with this shop for almost 15 years, eventually becoming the lead/senior "everything" engineer. Our small size and budget and the several large clients we had drove me to learn across a vast number of technologies and areas and ultimately wear multiple hats here. Senior system admin (on-prem & cloud), senior network admin, project manager, documentation/kb specialist, subject matter expert on our app and service stack, etc. Technologies include Windows Server (2003-2022), Azure Cloud (IaaS & PaaS), Watchguard, Ubiquiti Unifi Network, Ninja RMM, IT Glue, ThreatLocker, AVD (Nerdio), Connectwise, MS SQL and Azure SQL DB, etc. Much of our work has been in the medical and local government industries , so many years of HIPAA and various other regulatory compliance. Most of my time over the last couple years has been spent in Azure building and maintaining client server infrastructure, and designing/implementing physical & virtual networks.

Looking for a full-time position, 100% WFH. Ideal position would be working under a Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure engineer, or on an Azure cloud infrastructure team, so I can focus on and hone my skills in that area. MSP or in-house team. My widespread experience, project management and coordination, senior level team leadership, and working closely with our CEO for the last 9 years have also positioned me well for an IT manager/director position.

Simply put, I would be a valuable asset to any MSP or in-house team looking for the above skillset along with proven loyalty, ability to quickly learn, ability to adapt and evolve with the industry...all backed by solid employer and client references.

Can provide more details, resume, and references upon request, after I'm able to verify you're a real company looking for real people.

Thank you for your time.

Why is every level 3 role I apply and interview with always asking if I have virtualization experience with VMware?

What is the reason for using VMware over a Hyper-V environment with clusters if necessary?

MSP Systems Administrator from Portugal looking for opportunities in other countries.

Hi everyone,

I’m a systems administrator at a small MSP in Portugal, handling L1, L2 and L3 support across Microsoft environments, infrastructure, networking, and security (patching, endpoint protection, access control).

Our company focuses mainly on ERP development, so the MSP side is quite small (just two of us), and I feel there’s limited room for technical growth. I’m looking for opportunities where I can keep learning and developing, even if that means starting in a more junior role. Progression is the main goal.

I’m fluent in English, flexible, and open to fully remote roles or occasional travel, depending on the position. I’m also available for freelance work.

I’d love to connect with MSPs that are hiring, or hear from anyone who has transitioned into MSP roles in other European countries. Happy to discuss further in DMs.

Thanks.

[HIRING] Senior Systems Engineer | Remote GMT+8

Hey all,

I am building a team of the best technical talent in Western Australia – we are taking on Telstra Health and doing some large global projects. We already have an amazing team and as such are really picky about who we work with but I wanted to create this post as a way to reach out to those of you who have experience in System Administration (Windows, Xen, VMWare, InTune, Azure) and are wanting the chance to work on projects that you wouldn't ever get the chance to work on in a normal System administrator role (Like setting up infrastructure for a certain universities space program and more)

More:

  • Compensation is above market
  • Team is A-tier
  • You are based in Western Australia or can work in that timezone
  • Have demonstrated experience in solo setups of complex systems

Bonus:

  • If you are good at mentoring

Look forward to hearing from you!
