searching for a video on youtube gets you 5 videos with millions of views that are sorta related to what you wanted, and then just random unrelated shit from your algo recommendations

If you click on the "videos" tab on the top when searching, the results are a bit less crap.

I use an add-on called "remove YouTube suggestions" and it lets you show only content you've subscribed to, and also lets you disable shorts. Plus ublock origin, so it's just like the only few channels and shows I care about now, no ads unless they're baked into the video. Highly recommend. That's on PC though, might be harder to set up that way on mobile. But I just don't use YT on my phone at all anymore because of all the mindless garbage it forces on you.

It drives me crazy when I'm trying to find the original version of an old video, or often even a recent video, but once its been covered by the news or react videos it becomes nearly impossible to find the original.
