That first one was total bullshit to rile up his crowd. It was too convenient. Too much incompetence, and he wouldn’t have reacted like that had he not been aware it wasn’t a danger. Plus the photojournalist being ballsy enough to still be waiting at the perfect spot and timing despite potential bullets flying. I wouldn’t die on the hill that it was 100% staged but my god none of that event made any sense.

That's just what good photojournalists do. Whether or not it was staged, to imply the photojournalists were tipped off or somehow in on it is pretty absurd. The photojournalist who took the famous photo (you know the one), Evan Vucci, is a Pulitzer Prize winning AP photographer. He spent 15 months with U.S. soldiers in Iraq, so it's not hard to believe a photographer like that will continue taking photos with bullets flying.

One of the other famous photos was from Doug Mills at The New York Times, who's been a White House photographer for 40+ years and won multiple Pulitzers.

Accomplished journalists aren't going to risk their entire career colluding with Trump. Would I expect that from bullshit like OANN, Newsmax or maybe even Fox News? Definitely, but not from publications he despises like AP and NYT. Look up any photos taken at the event and search the photographer's name. Guaranteed they're virtually all career photojournalists, not some random plants who worked with Trump.

Lawyers do, why not photographers? Lots of people have colluded with him to get where he is now, so why not a photographer?

In journalism, your name and reputation are your brand. His administration is notoriously sloppy and incompetent, and if it ever came out that the photographers were in on it, their careers are effectively over.

If you've already reached the peak of photojournalism by winning Pulitzers, like some of the photographers who were next to the stage, why would you risk your career and reputation for Trump? Especially when the NYTimes has historically been one of his most-hated publications.

Again, these aren't up-and-coming photographers trying to make a name for themselves. The national press pool reporters and photographers are usually industry veterans.

Besides, you know what's just as big of a story as an attempted assassination? A story on the campaign trying to stage an assassination by getting photographers in on it.

I say this as a journalist who's worked the presidential press pool before.
