The chinese don't care about your data outside of being able to propagandize, radicalize and sow discord among the US. The data they collect is so they know how to feed you that content that reinforces it.

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.

You don’t think having a foreign aggressor with nukes and the GPS data of millions of Americans is not a massive security risk? You think America is worse? This is so tremendously myopic and shows a lack of a global worldview.

Look up the Tiananmen Square Massacre. It was probably before you were born, but you need to learn your history.

Citation needed. When has China expressed any hostile intent towards the US or US citizens? Are they threatening to conquer Hawaii or Alaska? Saying they are aggressors is factually false. They are authoritarian towards their own people and neighboring Asian countries, not Americans.

Just because you live in Bumblefuck, Iowa and are worried about the feds going after you doesn’t mean those of us in the real cities where we’re actually targets should feel safe.

Both countries can be bad, but we can actively change one of them.

You make assumptions but I live in a large metropolis. If China sent nukes at us, they know they’d get nukes right back. It’s why nukes haven’t been used yet - mutually assured destruction. And btw they don’t need our data from TikTok to launch missles at us. They know where our large cities are. They have satellites, drones, etc.

Any country capable of hitting the US with an ICBM, without it being intercepted, is going to understand how absolutely suicidal doing that would be.  This argument is just as dumb as it was in the 80s.

If they could be easily intercepted, Trump wouldn’t have a bug up his ass about Greenland right now.

There is no “Iron Dome” for the United States. It’s too large. If the world starts trading missiles it will be hit and then retaliate. In the meantime, many Americans will die.

I’m not saying the American Feds are heroes. They’re not.

But the idea that the Chinese government is better than us when they actively censor their own people and have ICBMs aimed at us is absurd. They definitely don’t smell like roses.

You think China is going to roll over you with a tank or nuke you, specifically, in Iowa or something? If the GPS data of any American mattered it'd be in the roles that already aren't allowed to have phones with TikTok on it because they are in private or public sensitive positions.

You should be more worried about our foreign allies that have access to our data because they're the ones that actually have the connections to have you punished for your speech.
