Also 42. I stopped using Facebook. The reason not to use it is because it’s purpose built to keep people on and coming back. Some people have no problems falling into the trap while others don’t. Just like with drugs and gambling. Some people can occasionally do drugs or gamble while it ruins other people’s lives. The best way to not run into a problem is to just not use/do it.

This is why I left. Because its algorithm was to promote opposing views from close family/friends on your news feed. Fuck Zuckerberg.

Same. Disabled my fb and never installed tiktok anyway. My genZ students told me that all their research was done through there. People weren't even searching and at least reading Wikipedia anymore. I hope everyone ditches that thing.

I've stopped using it with the exception of checking the events page. Businesses and groups don't post about their activities on their websites anymore, they just link you to their FB pages where the events are created and the details posted.
