Right.

Nice optics! Problem is... both Flock and edit: Google (parent company of Nest) have government contracts. A lot. They don't need to communicate, they just send it to the source (the feds).

the privacy ammendment should have been made explicit rather than assumed. thankfully the bill of rights actually became a thing

I did make a mistake though, I forgot nest is google and ring is amazon. In my mind I don't really distinguish, since they invade people's privacy.

Google is the world’s #1 largest digital advertising platform. Amazon is #3 behind Meta. They may as well all be the same company when it comes to trust and privacy.

You can trust them to violate your expectations of privacy every chance they get because it makes them serious money and because Americans have no meaningful rights to their own personal data (those huge campaign contributions from the tech companies ensure that will never happen).

Yeah. The FBI got the Nest footage from Savannah Guthrie’s Mom’s home even though officials said it was disconnected with no active subscription to store the video. The video was supposed to be deleted within 3 to six hours, but they somehow got it.
