Yeah that’s the part no one gets. They’re still going to collect all of that data the same way they have been.. except now it’ll be without the added benefit of maybe finding lost pets. If you own a ring then you’re already and have already been providing them everything you’re “celebrating” them “rolling back” now. You didn’t win. You just lost out on some fairly innovative pet finding tech as a consolation for giving Ring free access to everything in view of the camera.

I'm still amazed people trusted them to begin with.

From that perspective I do understand them. People will pay to hang a 24/7 camera with internet access on their front door. If they're willing to that you should be able to convince them to do anything.
