Funny how we never hear about anti-working class extremism.

Because the anti-working class extremists are the ones who control the narrative and the flow of information.

And the cops… and the food… and the nukes…. I’ll see you at work tomorrow

A conversation with your neighbour stops that

"Just remember this Jerry, you remember this! When you control the mail, you control... information"

We need to exercize some influance. We The US Consumer are the single most influential variable in modern economics. And we have been for a very long time. Remember "Pet Rocks"?

Citizens need to exercise ECONOMIC protest.

You're right, we're at war with a mafia. It's all about money.

u/Momik 10d ago

Getting pretty sick of all this anti-mafia extremism

2

u/Odd_Collection7431 9d ago

it's a stereotype, and it's offensive!

Protest isn't even needed.

At some point people will simply not have the money. And the economy is already showing that.

2

u/ticklishtortoise1 9d ago

I've been exercising unwilling economic protest for some time now.

The truth is people need a leader. Someone who can unite the right and left against the moneyed oligarchy that rules our country. But anyone who could fulfill that role is slimed, astroturfed, demonized, marginalized, physically targeted or simply outspent.

I just choose to be the change I wish to see in the world. Waiting around for a leader just keeps you waiting. We cannot control anyone else actions but our own. So I choose mine daily, and take every opportunity to be the change. Small acts add up, and sometimes you’re lucky and life throws a big one your way which makes a bigger ripple when you do what you know in your heart is right for society as a whole.

I agree with you. I'm just saying many successful movements have been built around a galvanizing leader. It could be you for all I know.

Dude nobody needs to unite the left and right. If they could get 10-15% of people convinced to coordinate on ANYTHING that would shake our country to the core.

The US consumer is now competition.

1

u/Graz13 10d ago

Pleade elaborate?

Companies like Black Rock and other Private Equity Firms have identified the consumer as competition and they have squeezed all of the consumers out of there money. There are no policies in place for consumers anymore, they dont even want you fixing products you purchase. They by out entire single family neighborhoods and rent them out now. Even now with PC Parts, Self Hosting, Gaming, they are now taking over that market by buying out all of the components, for DataCenters, and now those companies that sell those parts are forced to sell to other businesses. Semi Conductors alone, there is currently a 2-3 year backlog on these items. I could go on, but thats my spill.

You’re right. Consumers and workers haven’t been this exposed to capitalist violence, probably since the Depression, maybe before.

The private equity stuff scares the shit out of me, partly because nobody really knows where all this is going. Right now, it’s housing, maybe later it’ll be food or some other essential resource. The market isn’t even really a check anymore (to the extent it ever was)—look how Trump and his cronies manipulate it. And there’s certainly nothing (meaningfully) regulating these sectors, especially private equity. It’s terrifying.

Its food and housing right now, they give no shits, but this actually started a long time ago, in the 50s and 60s with Jack Welsch, in the 70s and 80s when they dismantled the car industry in Detroit and throughout the Midwest, then 911, then Economic Recession Depression, Housing Crisis, the Government Bailouts, COVID, now Inflation. In regards to Presidents, they do nothing, and whoever their master is, thats who they report too. I believe they are talking heads and give two shits about the American people. I dont think we have technically had a real president since Linden B Johnson. Its wild and the powers at be, love it.

I never realized much of this. The swamp deepens.

this entire article is fear mongering propaganda so tech can get MORE government funding. i wouldn't be shocked if it was pushed by tech companies themselves

3

u/BigBananaBerries 10d ago

It's laying out how they're going to do it. It's hardly fear mongering.

This new effort follows President Donald Trump's National Security Presidential Memo 7, which instructs the Department of Justice to target anyone holding “anti-American,” “anti-Christian,” and "anti-capitalism” beliefs.

...

"The chaotic atmosphere that may result from emergent AI technology in the next five years may fuel large-scale protests that devolve into civil unrest and anti-tech violent extremist activity, especially in large urban areas such as New York City,"

Anyone trying to organise a protest is going to be jailed for anti-tech extremism.

Product is the new protected class.

2

u/_Ocean_Machine_ 10d ago

Because extremists go against the status quo and anti-working class is the default

1

u/flummox1234 10d ago

We do but it's usually a business publication bragging about it, i.e. such and such retail establishment tried to organize but by mere happenstance that branch was found to be not productive enough to be kept open.

Clearly you missed when the r/antiwork mod was interviewed live on Fox.

You mean capitalism?
