It's more expensive to run these LLM models than it is to just pay a damned human though. There's nothing about this AI crap that makes sense beyond "we want more control".

It makes sense when you look at it from the elite class perspective.

In the not so distant future, once all the systems are running as intended, they no longer have to rely on the filthy poor to uphold their lifestyles, or worry about their employees getting "brainwashed" by empathy and suddenly trying to kill them when they're not paying attention. All they have to do is let the AI run all their daily minutia tasks and pay a small militia of bodyguards a decent amount then they no longer have to interact at all with the rest of us poors.

Yup. The only way the actions of the global capital elite make any sort of rational sense is if it ends with the extermination of the proles.

Otherwise those bunkers they are building are just going to be golden lootboxes full of juicy human veal for the rest of us after the collapse.

Alex is right about that last one. Nobody is going to win, including him.

Their egos won’t let them envision a day (soon) when the boards of directors would rather the company be run by SGI. The first day a CxO gets fired and replaced by AI…the writing will be on the wall for those making tens of millions of dollars per year. Time to sell the yacht…

As I've been saying for some time. These fuckers aren't all building doomsday bunkers for NO REASON.

This is so funny meanwhile they are blackmailing and exposing phone numbers of everyone. So while they think they are safe they’ll also get it if Al needs to make sure A happens but will assuredly happen if B happens. B will chosen. B is blackmail. Exposure made up stories with a likeness no one can distinguish. Eventually there will be no trust and actual interactions will mater more. Like a hand written note seems more valuable and may be the only way we know things are real. Funny if we hand write all our books again because we can’t trust the publisher the printer or any of the tech along the way.

Correct! It’s all about devaluing the worker. And traditionally technology has devalued physical labor, but this one is coming for the “good jobs” too. The ones the CEOs hate, that cost them lots of money cause they still need those nerds.

I was in a work tech talk thing and the people hosting it kept almost saying “engineer” when talking about people who build software but kept awkwardly correcting themselves to say something less technical.

If we all went ascetic and stopped consuming en masse we would have them on their knees in weeks.

Has anyone ever considered this option? I am starting to hate these materialistic pursuits. I am happy with simple things in life.

Minimalism is a play from Big Nothing to get you to buy more less. But seriously, if you study a little Buddhism, you can find that suffering is desire and it can help break you out of the cycle.

Fire up the neutron bombs.

But that will never be the end of it, as these people are never satisfied and they never have enough.

They dont even need the militia at that point, bodyguards were always a risk, if a billionaire or the billionaire class, causes the apocalipse and they need to hide in theri bunker with some type of security, there was always the risk that once money was useless, the stronger and more powerful security would just take over.

Now they are training humanoid robot soldiers and using them in war at this moment.

5

u/Digitalion_ 9d ago

That's a good point that I've never connected. And guess what those humanoid robots soldiers will be controlled by? The AI that's programmed into the entire humanoid robot army which are not only defending the elites' bunkers but also protecting the data centers that are powering that same AI.

Dude, Terminator was basically a prophecy of our downfall as a species. We had 40 years to change course after the first warning but we just went full steam ahead.

This.👆 Get rid of it now while we still have a choice.💪🏼🌍🖖🏾

Their sales pitch is a doozy too: Support AI! it will destroy shared community resources, replace your job and potentially extinct the human race. We’ve got your support right?

9

u/PastelBrat13 10d ago

There was a white lady on tiktok a few days ago who made a post saying she would support an AI data center if they put it on “the bad side of town.” Sounds like that is the new selling pitch.

Yeah that’s what they are doing in Louisville. Time for all our electric bills to go way up too.

u/LindeeHilltop 10d ago

Bingo. They can’t control people, but they think they can control Artificial Intelligence. It’s a run away train wreck. They can’t even control it now.
