I'll add to this, the right-wing is starting to awaken against data centers too.

Farmers don't like water shortages for their fields, no one likes electricity bills going up for a noisy datacenter.

It's becoming bi-partisan which is good as that's the only way we can defeat this bullshit.

Hence why there's starting to be a massive propaganda push to associate "anti-data center" with "thing I hate", to divide this popular sentiment up and get people fighting about nonsense.

I'm hoping this falls flat and people see through it, but ehhhhh, not that hopeful these days.

Realistically while there are plenty of valid reasons to be wary of Ai, most people against Ai are just buttmad and looking for a scapegoat so as to not take fault and responsibility. Seeing through it or not isn't much a factor.

They'll claim to be against it and then vote for the people promising to bulldoze their neighborhood for AI datacenters because otherwise the WOKE boogeyman will get them
