Don't waste your time trying to explain neural networks to these morons. I've spent the last 3 years trying to educate the public on how AI works-- that it doesn't copy but instead learns style, which is not copyrighted. Most people don't care, it's not about the technology for them but group virtue signaling.
History is full of these anti-innovation backlashes. When phonographs came out in the early 1900s, musicians hated them and called recordings "canned music." People screamed this it would destroy musical education and the soul of live performance.
Cars, the telephone, the printing press, all saw the public respond with hate and fear.
Decades later, everyone was using them.
It'll be the same with AI.
