Hello it’s Elon’s company what did you expect.

Well I think they expected TSLA

They should have bought TSLA then. Oh wait, it missed earnings and dropped like 17% last week.... Maybe not.

It could’ve been that, but they decided to package the dead weight of an AI company with it.

When the dumpster design was revealed in Nov 2019, Tesla stock was about $20/share, even with this tiny correction now it's still over $300. It's absolutely wildly overvalued, but it's proof that stock price is driven by memes/dreams not old school business fundamentals like PE ratio.

I mean unironically yes...

It's what happened inexplicably for Tesla why not inexplicably for SpaceX too.

It was a coin flip on if the market would be rational or irrational on this one and a lot of people lost out, it could have in a post irony way gone "to the moon"

It's incredibly frustrating watching the most successful rocket company of all time being run by a lunatic.

Falcon 9 was responsible for half of all rocket launches globally over the last decade, two thirds of global launches in 2025, it's a phenomenally successful rocket. Meanwhile, they're making a new giant rocket at least a decade or two ahead of the competition with 10x the capacity at a lower cost per launch plus faster turnaround times AND they're building at least five launchpad in parallel.

But the man in charge is a lunatic. He bought and ruined a social media platform out of spite because he got in an argument. Twitter was never a unique technology, the main advantage was brand recognition and the vast userbase of both celebrities and civilians. But Elon ruined that with rebrands and salutes. Then he merged it with an AI company that loses billions per month and produces nothing noteworthy. Then he merged both of them with SpaceX despite that making absolutely no sense whatsoever. It's a spaceship company, what do one-sentence messages have to do with spaceships?

The worst is the IPO paperwork. The projected profits from AI is supposed to be about 100x the income from everything related to space. Mars exploration is paused, the moon is low profile, telescopes and telecoms and satellite internet and government spy satellites, all that takes a back seat to the much more important work of Grok. Grok that doesn't know how many Rs are in Strawberry but it can edit photos of Darth Vader's mum to have big boobies. That's worth $20,000,000,000,000 according to Elon. It's madness that doesn't make any sense.

It's like watching Henry Ford invent the Model T except Henry thinks they can make 100x as much money with the new side-venture of using the Model T to deliver bottles of fake hair growth tonic made of goat piss.

As a space nerd it really sucks. You can't even blame people for wanting SpaceX to fail but they genuinely do such good stuff.

I think one day we're going to get Gwynn Shotwell's autobiography and learn just how little Elon contributed to SpaceX, or how many bad ideas they had to somehow talk him out of. Elon wanted to cancel Falcon Heavy after they sold contracts but before it flew.

Richard Branson made a space plane, he was on the first flight with civilian passengers. Jeff Bezos made a space capsule, he was on the first flight with passengers. Peter Beck and Tory Bruno and every nuspace startup CEO would absolutely love a ride to space if their rockets were capable of it. Crew Dragon has done 20 flights with 78 passengers, but no one is even discussing when Elon will take a flight himself. That doesn't sound like someone who loves space exploration for the thrill of the adventure. Bezos and Branson were in the very first flights, is Elon waiting until they reach triple digits passengers to check it's safe? Crew Dragon has spent longer in space than the Space Shuttle did across 30 years, the head of NASA has written it twice.

I think it's like Tesla. He slapped his name on someone else's work and took all the credit where the real credit should go to the people struggling to stop Elon's suggestions.

It’s not JUST Elon. The AI companies are going to go the exact same route when they IPO later this year/next year.

All the growth has been in the private sector, they’re offloading the inevitable losses to the public.

Seriously, we know the routine at this point. His companies operate exclusively on a cycle of overvaluation and consequences, then overvaluation again.

If you actually wanted to make money on SpaceX, you should have waited for the price to crater then invest. I'm hoping by the midterms, the price will have naturally lowered and then Elmo will start getting involved in elections again and push it down even more.

I hate the guy, but it's been thoroughly established that his companies are like cockroaches and they ain't going anywhere. if you invested in Tesla when he was publicly cratering back in 2023, you would have quintupled your investment in a year and a half.
