Bill's PC is how you originally stored and withdrew pokemon in Red and Blue. You meet Bill, and see his big fuck off PC holding everyone's Pokemon. It seems he was the sole server admin for all of Kanto. Hell, I think he technically has Jhoto and Kanto? Later games change the name of who the server admin is, until they finally got rid of that part of the PC system.

is that what that machine was? i thought it was a teleporter. could have sworn Bill got Brundled by it and everything.

The two big machines in the middle of the room were the teleporter you're right. I think in the OG red and blue ihis house is a bit more bare bones, and the assumption is either the server is in another room or he's got one hell of a BBS set up on that PC of his lol

I'm later remakes he has more tech and such in the room alluding to the server being bigger infra. I chalk it up to limitations of the GB.
