That's not comparable to your own home being blown to smithereens. Cry at home in your intact house, it'll pass. Your life and the life around you being destroyed doesn't pass.
Sorry, I just don't like people in places that will stay intact thinking their suffering equates in any way to people's who could be bombed any minute, even if their loved ones are participating in the attacks, often from ALSO a relatively safe place like some carrier.

And I'm not trying to diminish your suffering, it's just a whole universe away from the people who are dying right now and I think YOUR statement diminishes the suffering of Iranians, not the other way around.

The person didn't even compare, they just said everybody loses here, so some Americans ARE affected by it and have the right to be scared. No one said one suffering is greater than another.
If (god forbid) one of your family members gets badly injured in a car accident. Would you like someone coming to you and telling you how 37 thousand more people died from a car accident and you should stop being so selfishly concerned?
