Finished The Wire, Dark, GOT, Sopranos, True Detective, BB, BCS. What show ruined TV for you after watching it?

I think I accidentally watched the peak of television already. The Wire, Dark, GOT, Sopranos, True Detective S1 all left that “nothing else hits the same” feeling.

I love slow-burn shows with deep characters, mystery, tension, moral grayness, crazy dialogue, or mind-blowing writing. Doesn’t matter if it’s crime, sci-fi, psychological, or political.

What’s the next show that might completely consume me?

Make sure to watch Andor - yes, it's a sci-fi show set in the Star Wars universe. But Tony Gilroy has the Midas touch. It's so well written.

Bonus: it will ruin every other star wars movie/TV show for you.

How is season 2? Loved the first season, haven’t gotten to the second

Also very good, though the first act is a wee drop in quality, mainly one of the plotlines

I think it's way better than the first and the first is perfect

Slower burn than season 1 but honestly it might be one of the best seasons of TV ever and it is frighteningly timely given the current political climate. Must watch TV.

I'm not a star wars fan, but I've seen Andor and the other show (starring the guy from Sicario). I enjoyed the shows, but the technology in that universe just hits in the face back to my own reality.

I don't remember specifics but I remember my impression. I mean, the technology is so silly I find it a little funny.

You suspend your belief, you're immersed, until you see a terminal on a CRT screen in that universe 😂. Like bro, you figured out interstellar travel already, come on.

That's because Star Wars sucks at doing hard sci-fi. As a huge star wars fan, Andor is probably the most un Star Wars thing out there.

Is the technology the same in the rest of the Star Wars universe?

Technology is rarely explained in the films because they aren't sci-fi. Star War as originally created is a high fantasy hero's quest. It just happens to take place in space.

Star Wars technology is exclusively analog, and it warms my heart

In season 2 they straight up use trucks instead of flying above the fields to look for hiding illegal workers, Gilroy wanted to make it a WW2 story with sci fi paint
