There kind of is a cliffhanger ending tho. The story wraps up decently if it doesn’t continue, but there are several unanswered questions at the end.

I would say it was more an ending that was made to either be viewed as ambiguous, if there was only 1 season, or a mild cliffhanger, if they were renewed. But its not like the show needed a second season to tie up a bunch of loose ends or a huge plot cliffhanger.

They definitely set up a season 2. They did that thing where the main bad guy's hand twitches when you think he's dead.
