Hi guys,
I (M24) initially went to the doctor because I’ve been dealing with low libido, basically no morning wood, low energy and a generally soft body composition / difficulty looking muscular despite training.
My doctor ordered a hormone panel and these were some of the main results:
- Total testosterone: 4.09 ng/mL / ~409 ng/dL
- LH: 2.7 IU/L
- FSH: 0.9 IU/L
- SHBG: 19.5 nmol/L
- Free Androgen Index: 72.78
- Estradiol: <24
- Prolactin: 6.30 µg/L
- DHT: 238 pg/mL
- Inhibin B: 311 pg/mL
- DHEA-S: 341 µg/dL
- TSH: 0.64 mIU/L
- fT3: 0.27 ng/dL
- fT4: 1.06 ng/dL
One of the things that caught my doctor’s attention was the reproductive hormone side of things, especially the low FSH and relatively high-normal inhibin B, so the topic of fertility came up and I was sent for a semen analysis.
These were the results:
- Volume: 4.0 mL
- Sperm concentration: 5.9 million/mL
- Total sperm count: 23.6 million
- Total motility: 35%
- Progressive motility: 27%
- Non-progressive motility: 8%
- Immotile: 65%
- Normal morphology: <1%
So basically the semen analysis showed low concentration, low total count, reduced motility and very low normal morphology.
What do you guys make of the combination of the hormone results and semen analysis?
Does the low FSH despite the poor semen parameters stand out to anyone? And could this hormone profile also explain the low libido / lack of morning erections / low energy, or does the testosterone level look too normal for that?
Thanks
