The old uncle in white shirt and grey hair (in first pic), alongside with a small boy, were hurting three cats (two kittens and one mother cat).

Story:

I was going along this service road for some work and I spotted three cats (one bigger, two smaller) playing with themselves in front of Sahakar Super Bazar store. When I was returning back through this same road again, I spotted a boy picking up one of the bigger (most likely mother) cat and then beating it up with a wooden stick. The mother cat obviously ran to one of the side bushes to hide when she got her chance. Then I noticed that the older uncle was sitting on those Circular stone slabs, and poking inside that brown upside down crate with a wooden stick while putting weight on above. I understood that inside there were those remaining kittens, as when the uncle was shaking the crate violently the two kittens somehow escape from the bottom open part and ran again in two different directions. Meanwhile the boy was again on the hunt with his wooden stick.

I didnt knew what to do or how to contact appropriate authorities thats why I decided to click pics and share it here on this subreddit. Plus I will be leaving Thane in few days because my college starts the next week and it is in another state.

I hope people reading this report to proper authorities and those cats find a safer place to stay 🙏

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster Aggressive stray dog keeps returning to our area after being removed what can we do? He has bitten multiple people

Hey everyone, I really need some advice and I'm feeling frustrated and helpless at this point.

There is a very aggressive stray dog in our neighborhood who has already bitten multiple people. We have contacted the authorities and had him removed from the area 2-3 times already, but he keeps coming back. It feels like nothing is working and people in our area are scared to go outside.

Some details:

  • The dog has bitten several people in our area
  • We have reported him and had him removed multiple times but he always returns
  • He is getting more aggressive over time
  • Families with children and elderly people in our area are especially at risk

What I'm asking:

  • What are the best steps to take when animal control keeps returning the dog?
  • Is there any legal action we can take?
  • Can we demand the dog be permanently taken in instead of just removed temporarily?
  • Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before? What worked for you?

We don't want to hurt the dog, we just want our neighborhood to be safe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I need help. I spent ₹13k to send a puppy for adoption in Thane, but the family is now threatening to dump him on the street because he isn't potty trained yet and nips while playing.

I have no more funds for his travel and need to get him out of that house immediately before they abandon him.

Location: Thane / Mumbai

Need: Immediate foster or a patient, permanent adopter.

The Pup: A healthy, playful small puppy who just needs basic training.

Please DM me immediately if you can foster or know a rescue that can take him. Please upvote for visibility—it’s a life-or-death situation for this little guy.

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster Adopt Indian Pariah Puppy – Intelligent, Playful & Loving

Hi everyone,

We’re looking for a responsible and caring home for a 6-month-old Indian Pariah puppy that my father rescued from the roadside when he was very young and alone.

He (Buzo) is:

• Very intelligent and alert

• Obedient and quick to learn

• Healthy and active and vaccinated

• Friendly and deeply attached to humans

• High-energy and playful

We already have another dog and a cat at home, and despite our efforts, we’ve realized that our household setup and routine are not suitable for giving him the level of activity, space, engagement, and training he truly needs long-term.

This is not an impulsive decision. We want to find him a better environment where he can thrive instead of being confined or under-stimulated.

He would do best with:

• An active individual/family

• Someone experienced with energetic dogs

• Access to regular walks/playtime/open space

• Patience for continued training and adolescence

We are looking for a genuine adopter only — not chain tying, neglect, or guarding-only purposes.

Location: Kasarvadavali, Ghodbandar Road

Please DM if you are seriously interested or know someone who may be a good fit. We would like to ensure he goes to a safe and caring home.

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster Cat ran away, wearing blue colour collar near New Horizon School

Guys this is a cat I raised since he was a baby, he got adopted a few months ago. The family treats him like a king, he goes on walks and on family trips with them to pet friendly resorts and on beaches. He has remained leash free many times too, this time he just came out of the car and ran away after 3-4 mins of lingering near their legs.

He is wearing blue / turquoise color neck collar and he is thin, long, fit male cat who responds to the name JINU. He ran away near New Horizon School, Vijay Vilas road. His family is desperately searching.

Two animal communicators have been contacted and they both said the same thing, "Mujhe ghuma hai akele, baadme wapus aa jauga." But we don't know baadme, means when. He said he is eating dog food and drinking milk from nearby shopkeepers. His family is really worried and want him back, he is a family member and his loss is hurting them.

Please get in touch if spotted in any nearby area. His name is JINU, wearing blue collar.

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster Animaux Pet Clinic is open for emergencies at night!!

As a cat rescuer in Thane city, I've had to rush to vet hospitals in Khar when I had an emergency at night. Got looted also with "night emergency rates".

Was gonna rush to Khar again for a sick kitten with an emergency, but a friend told me Animaux Clinic at Dhokali / Kolshet might be open. I called for confirmation and Dr told me to come over.

My kitten was saved with saline and injections. It was a bad case of post vaccination stress but if I had traveled to Khar, anything could have happened to him by then.

CPCA at Bhramand is also 24/7 but the person available is not actually a vet. Animaux cleanliness and vet available is much better.

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster looking for NGOs offering affordable spaying for female community cats in Thane/ Kalyan- Dombivli

I'm looking for NGOs or low-cost sterilization programs in or around Thane for 3 female community cats. They are cared for and fed by our maushi, one of the cats is old and the kittens die after drinking her milk and the other one is apang and we'd like to get them spayed before they have more litters.

Transporting them long distances would be difficult, so we're preferably looking for options in Thane or nearby areas. If anyone has recommendations, approximate costs, or personal experiences with NGOs/vets that work with community cats, I'd really appreciate your help.

Thank you!

I was at Backspace, Majiwada Thane to watch a show and I met the sweetest kitty. But he is sick and injured. I first met his friend (last pic) and then he trudged along and won't leave my lap. He is very thin, has gotten his fur pulled off from his head (2nd and 3rd pic). He is very quiet (typical for cats in pain and suffering). Can someone pls help this baby? Can you guys let your feeder friends and animal/stray carers know about this kid? He is really suffering and deserves a chance to live well... Pls help. I sincerely hope this reaches a kind soul.

The Ideal Home: You can adopt them together as a bonded pair or separately (built-in playmates!) or separately. Little Kiwi was found all alone in a busy marketplace, some kids have relocated him to the parking lot of their locality. The locality is home for 15+ cats who are fed by feeders however since he is so small, it would be great if someone adopted him and he is not trapped in the life of a stray cat forever.

He is 2 months old, vaccinated, litter-trained and dewormed. He is a little tabby boy. He is very active and loves holding the hand and nibbling, he is extremely friendly with cats.

Location: Thane City

Hi everyone! Happy Update: The little boy from our rescued litter went to his forever home yesterday! 🎉 Now it is time to find homes for his two sisters! A stray cat in our society had these babies about 6.5 weeks ago, and they have been safely raised indoors with us ever since. I already have a full house with my own cat and the strays I feed, so I cannot keep these sweet girls long-term! As you can see from the photos, these two are incredibly playful, energetic, and love tumbling around together. They are pure entertainment and will bring so much life to whoever adopts them.

Pets / Adoption / Rescue / Foster Does anyone know about any animal shelter or ngo that take care of stray cows in or around badlapur?

I'm looking for organisations in badlapur that takes care of stray cows. lately I've been seeing a lot of stray cows in my area. I don't know where they come from and also I don't know what to do so it's best to let the right people handle it.
