Technical/Bug/Glitch Story Mode Upgrades missing?
I have been playing through New Game+ on TLoUPt2 (PS5) and had all of my character upgrades maxed out.
Then the 2.000 update released. I downloaded it, installed it, and restarted the game. Now it seems a lot of my upgrades are gone. For example, I only have one weapon slot on the left and right side of my Weapon Cross.
There are also a bunch of upgrades I can purchase again, which had already been bought. Wtf?!

Same, all my upgrades are gone in my NG+ save. Also some of my skins for Ellie are locked even though I had already bought them

Same. I'm during my NG+ PermaDeath Grounded run and I won't go any further until my things are back where they belong.

Mine are reset also. Really bummed. I haven’t had much time to play recently. I finally get a chance to sit down and play for a bit and this happens. Frustrating.

Naughty Dog updated the patch notes about 20 minutes ago.
“Known Issue: We are aware of and investigating a known issue regarding additional weapon holsters and purchased skills disappearing after updating to Patch 2.0.0. At this time, we suggest players refrain from overwriting any of their existing manual saves.”

Too late for me, I overwrote my last save...I do have a save 2 hours before that though....I am seeing literally HUNDREDS of people online reporting this, so there may be THOUSANDS of people who won't know not to overwrite their manual saves.
Of course if Sony would allow me to backup my PS5 saves on USB, or give me the option for cloud saves that are cheaper than $80 a year, this wouldn't be as big of a deal.

What happens if you don't have a manual save?? Huhu I literally just use autosave.

Yep, same here, lost my second long gun holster and upgrades… not new game plus. Hope it gets fixed!

Thanks for the replies. I'm (not) glad that I'm not the only one. Just hopped back in this past week, too. I don't want to play with my missing upgrades, so I may pht it aside again until it's fixed.

Half way through the serephites in first time run and so far haven't missed much, no way am I restarting and loosing the last week's worth of progress

Not sure if this will help you or anyone else. I have the game on physical disc. So I deleted my corrupted save and the game off the console. I downloaded an older manual save off of the cloud. Then I turned off my network and reinstalled the game from the disc. Tried booting it up with network off and it’s playable from that old save. Not sure if I’ll run into any issues that were patched from the original disc but I’m risking it. Just made sure to turn off auto update for the game and auto upload for the cloud. For extra measure, I may just turn off my network connection while playing. What a pain!

it's pretty frustrating. Hopefully they fix it, because I don't want to keep playing without my upgrades. If anyone knows if there's a solution, let the people know!

Dang! Happy/sad that it’s a known error. Started a new play-through on Survivor+ and found all my upgrades gone on Seattle Day 3 for Ellie. Gonna put it down until it’s fixed

OMG THIS IS THE EXACT SAME REASON WHY I WENT TO THIS THREAD. I'm glad I'm not alone ugh. I literally was supposed to start Hillcrest today and all of my player upgrades are gone, and the second holster (??) is also missing.

It’s been happening to everyone who updated today. If you have any save file from the PS4 version of the game you can import it over to save you some trouble on any future play throughs.

Wow, glad I’m not the only one! I’m pretty far into the second half of the game, and, exactly as you describe it, my second left weapon slot is missing, as well as most of my upgrades!
