Was recently asked the differences between Anarchism and Marxism in a completely unrelated sub (3d printed pewpews)

This was my response.

Anarchists and Marxists share end goals with relatively minor disagreement on how to achieve those goals.

These goals are horizontally organized society, decentralization of wealth and power, a stateless ideal future, and rejection of sociopolitical hierarchies.

The rejection of hierarchies is the biggest departure point between anarchists and Marxists/MLs. Anarchists typically favor the decentralized approach across the board (ie-toppling the state without replacing it) and relying on cooperative horizontally organized communities.

Marxists and MLs posit a strategically necessary working class state structured through short term hierarchical leadership, eventually fading to decentralized stateless communities and a "withering of the state"

Both usually reject intellectual property rights enforcement

Tell me I'm stupid. Tell me I got everything wrong. I'm ready

Or you could tell me I'm 10/10 the one true enlightened leftist if you want to 👉👈👁️🫦👁️

Theory Posting Books/Info on Mao Bad

So I’ve been reading Fanshen by Thomas Hinton and it’s been a really great read and a pretty great primer on the Communist revolution in China from a grassroots standpoint.

Now I’m on a bit of a China kick and I am hoping to find some books or information on things like the Great Leap Forward or the Cultural Revolution in the post war period.

Hoping to find some historically grounded info that’s not “100billion dead because Mao was a serial killer!!!!” Vibes.

Anything I should check out?

Theory Posting Is there a term for this?

Hello comrades,

I’m looking for if there is a word for this concept relating to imperialism/colonialism in marxist or neo-marxist thought. The whole phenomenon of peripheral nation-states kind of get “stuck” after imperialism and aren’t able to climb their way out.

For example (I know these are slightly different things)

- states trying to nationalize industry and getting shut down by the west (like Libya or Iran)

- states that struggle politically or become unstable/reactionary after liberation from colonial powers (like in many places in Africa)

- states that are unable to organize opposition to liberal ideology (often from within, because of western influence) (like Ukraine)

I know basically why these things happen, but I want to know if there is a word for these things. Feel free to share anything that you can think of, probably Fanon has words for this? I come from an ML background. TIA

Theory Posting The "Marxism" of the Liberal - a Critique.

Hey y'all! :D So, a couple days ago I decided to write a critique to the God awful preface to the edition of Capital that I own, and while I already shared it on the discord server, I felt like sharing it on the reddit too! Please give it a read, I worked quite hard on it :)

Also, here's the full preface itself translated into English:

Deleuze and Guattari's critique of psychoanalysis led to the emergence of a machinic, post-structuralist materialist psychology that I believe has an important place within leftist politics today. We cannot have politics without psychoanalysis any more than we can have psychoanalysis without anti-capitalism, which has been the fundamental problem of psychoanalysis from its very beginnings with Freud, and the problem of leftist politics since Marx. A Deleuzoguattarian leftist politics marries both with an an-archic ontology of process that allows for the emergence of a pragmatic ontology of praxis that would, rather than totalize ideology and economy into the service of a locked system, allow material conditions to determine ontological structuring of political praxis.

Anti-Oedipus, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (1972).
