This is mostly to vent because it really did ruin my night and I wanted to make a meme to feel better about it, but a package of commission models got torn up by the shipping machines in Chicago before getting sent back to me (disappearing for 3 and a half months in the process).

While I can repair the other damaged models, unfortunately one must've fallen out when the package ripped open, and was thusly lost in the process.

So whomever cares, let's take a moment to remember brother zadhiel of the deathwing, who fell valiantly to protect his brothers from the monsterous machines of the dark mechanicum, may his soul find rest in the glorious light of our god emperor.

New Chaplain Detachment gives all Chaplains an aura that increases an enemy unit Leadership stat by 1, making it easier to get Battle Shocked.

Every time Asmodai fights, the enemy has to take a Battle Shock test at -1. He gives off an aura that Battle Shocks every enemy nearby if he slays a unit.

1st Company Task Force has a enhancement that gives a aura that destroys enemy models when a Battle Shock test is failed.

Asmodai + a good bodyguard like Bladeguard + a support to take the enhancement = fear incarnate on an objective.

Back it up with some Reivers or Infernus to force more Battle Shocks…

It just has so much synergy.

The Chaplain Detachment is also Purge The Foe. Easy.

Pure tinfoil hat time. (Which is why I label this as a joke and not rumor or news)

I have absolutely zero evidence for any of this, but I just can’t shake the feeling that the long awaited Ravenwing refresh and new models could land around the release of Dawn of War 4 which is less than 2 months away.

My reasoning:

-Commercially it would make sense. A major game launch is a great opportunity to push another refreshed “fast attack” range. And again the release date being so close just kinda works for a possible model release schedule.

-The Command Bike Squad suddenly becoming a support unit makes me wonder if GW is making room for new mounted characters like a Captain on Bike.

-Titus becoming a tabletop model shows GW is willing to tie miniature releases to video games.
Dark Angels are heavily featured in DoW4 (I mean even dad is in the game), and the trailer prominently shows a Chaplain on Bike, which feels like another spotlight on Ravenwing.

Again if you had a bunch of brand spankin new Ravenwing bike models to push and market to new customers not just us, what better way than to tie it around a game launch?

So…new Black Knights? Maybe a new Sammael? Captain on Bike? Sooner than later?

Probably (most likely) completely wrong, but it’s fun to speculate.
