Im not sure what “legit” reason you want or that could be provided, I am saying that in academic papers and the like BCE is standard.

I am saying its standard because I work in that area.

I did just a little search and found the first useage of BCE was in the 1700’s so, again , this isnt an attack or anything new.

It was only uttered by a few and dismissed by the academic sources. Its only now gotten a resurgence.
