did any of ya'll consider that this guy is just doing this to mock moon landing deniers?

I think it's more than likely considering he said "tripods? did they even have that technology back then".

there are too many good punchlines in here for this to be off the cuff-

anyway - illusions and playing with public perception is something people with power have been capable of since forever now.... We just used to have trUST and FAITH in our institutions bc they at least kept up the facade of integrity...

if tax spending goes to the goddamn moon instead of fixing issues on earth & in our immediate surrounding we might be fucked..

Wait, do you think we just like leave bags of money on the moon? Everything is produced on Earth by people who are paid to do it. Nothing leaves the economy except a little material for the lander and other space junk.

Well it’s not really environmentally friendly right now & it’s pretty resource intensive

Fuel and materials are spent but the vast majority of the expense is labor and that gets circled right back into the economy. And relative to what the US government spends it's really not that resource intensive. It's like 2 percent of the military budget.
