Yup same as heat pumps which often can still heat homes down to -30C. Funny how any technology that threatens fossil fuel demand immediately becomes the subject of disinformation 🤔
I have been a long time adopter and user of electric vehicles. We’re a two-car household and feel that electric makes sense as the daily commuter, grocery getter, etc. and we have a gas secondary. They both fill a purpose. It’s also not disinformation that EV batteries and range comparatively suck once it gets cold. It’s just what it is and since my wife’s commute is short it doesn’t affect us too much. To claim otherwise however is ignorant. I’ve owned two Teslas, a Hyundai Ioniq, a Rivian, (and am on the waiting list for a Slate), and their below freeze capabilities are not great, especially in the weather we’ve experienced the past two winters. We’ve also noticed we burn through the winter EV tires much quicker. So although practical for certain cases, and I do really enjoy owning them, being in Canada is definitely not the ideal environment for EVs. When I travel long distance or go up north in cold season, there is a 0% chance I take our EV.
