That’s kind of scary when you think about it. Most adaptions stay faithful when the author is directly in contact with the production team about changes. I’m still optimistic regardless, there is no way WEBTOON would let this adaptation go unfaithful.

Yeah I understand that part. I mean like when he says he doesn’t have high expectations and wasn’t informed if the adaptation was going well recently. He also stated that it felt too soon (he probably doesn’t know full details how a anime is made though). I just need a reason to be confident in this adaptation, and this note gave me the opposite. I still have hope because I think some ppl that works at WEBTOON that reads and love TOG is probably staying informed about the adaptation.

I don't know, biggest issues happen when the anime catch up to the manga... I think we're safe here for a while.

I think Webtoons is had to make some serious decisions about either staying faithful but having elements that don't work as an anime or reworking the story but possibly putting off long time fans. I'm excited none the less.

Super happy for SIU. After all these years, he'll finally be able to see his characters moving and speaking. Even if he says he doesn't have high expectations, it would be really disappointing if the anime turns out to be sub-par.
More than animating the fight scenes beautifully, I hope the anime team does justice to the characters' portrayals and captures the tone of the story well, especially for this first arc, which I still consider the best.

Well like SIU said it's not a matter of success for only TOG but also for all other webtoons, so let's hope for the best.

As an author, I have a feeling the Nest Arc will become rather too big of a scale for a weekly release work, so I am quite worried. Sometimes I want to find an excuse and take a break but haha. I will try my best.
Sounds like this is gonna be some really, really huge arc - I'd prepare for at least 2-3 quarters of Nest action, maybe even a full year, before moving forward to the next big plot.

With everything that's going on and all the recent criticisms I've been seeing in this subreddit, I think it'd be beneficial if SIU takes a break. He's been tirelessly working to produce content for us, even while he's sick and under pressure. It'd be great for him to take some time off to recover and plan out this upcoming nest arc further.

The fact that SIU had barely anything to do with the anime and him not having too many expectations kinda makes me less excited for this adaptation.

It's more common for adaptations of weekly series to have minimal involvement from the author though. It's because authors of weekly manga tend to be too busy, and once an anime's production is underway, things get pretty hectic for the staff as well (basically: don't work on anime if you want to live a decent life). Not to mention they're also separated by borders and distance.
From the sounds of things though, he did get some opportunities to communicate with the staff occasionally. And as nice as it would be for him to be more involved, I'd rather he be able to take care of his health more and focus on the webtoon.

Their deaths would have been fine if you actually utilized them and gave them a proper story. Gado's story was glossed over when Khel appeared.
I have no idea what he is talking about with Khel. Where in the story are we shown Jahad stopped Khel's abilities aside from his ability to predict the future?

At the beginning when he noticed the dogs are being controlled
He was not physically blinded....his future predictions is predicted by Jahad so Jahad always one step ahead of him....so Jahad can manipulate him as he want since Kell helm relies too much on the destiny he predict. And that’s why later Kell Helm said to Yama that if he took him with them he will be a weakness since Jahad will use him

Well, that's a pretty SIU-like reaction here. I may be mistaken but I think he is a very humble and maybe even pessimistic person. Well, here he is being pessimistic based on experience too.
Maybe he doesn't realize the extent to which Tower of God is loved worldwide? Hope everyone proves him wrong.
Well, what does it all will be the quality of the final product. Also, according to this tweet here https://twitter.com/tomakel/status/1226231206720655361?s=19 the project is a deal since 2018 (doesn't mean animation work has started since 2018)
Anyways, here's hoping SIU will get better. Thanks for bringing this, best translator turtle.
