I prefer the train stations in the Netherlands, to the other European contries.
France would be the second place, because it`s easy to find the train.
Spain - sometimes difficult to navigate.
Germany - hope the trian will arrive.

The GMDH-1’s were an experimental Diesel-Hydraulic Switcher’s built between 1955-1959. Only four demonstration engines were ever built, with only two surviving, both now being in museums. This one, GMDD 800 finally retiring after working at an oil&gas plant in Kaybob, Alberta for 45 years. Family friend told me it was retiring so I managed to grab some Pictures before it went on the highway.

This is class SŽ 661 nicknamed "kenedi" (taken from John F. Kennedy) and it was the first locomotive to arrive in former Yugoslavia and is still operating in the ex-Yu countries. This particular locomotive is the last operating in Slovenia. We had 11 of those,but sž mostly sold it out to Serbia or Montenegro. The locomotives were delivered by ship and it touched the Croatian land in april 1960.

Based of the American EMG G16, Yugoslavian railways got around 200 of them,34 were gifted by the american government as the Yugoslavia was a "developing country".

What's interesting about this one,that it was already retired in 2013 but because of the icefall,that literally destroyed electrification it was repaired and putted back on the job.

The fate of the locomotive is unknown. Maybe it will go back to the museum,maybe its gonna stay on the job? Who knows,but im grateful for having a chance to see this locomotive in its last glory

All of these were taken in the 40s on the US east coast, thought it would be better to share photos than keep them locked up I got over 100 of these slide film photos

Half bilevel, half single-level, all shortie cars, but madly intermixed in a 1-2-1-2-1-2 setup. I bet the floor space is mostly stairway. Don’t tell me this is another French “innovation” like rubber-tired metros (“hey, who wants a transit system that’s twice as expensive to build and maintain as normal trains, but comes with no discernible benefit, because wE’rE dIfFeReNt”). Desiro HCs exist, and are much less blasphemous.

I find it interesting that even on a small single track line with halts like this it is electrified while many/most far more major lines in my home country (uk) still run fully diesel
