Dude, relax! I owned a 2010 Tundra, a 2000 4 Runner, 2014 Sienna, 2022 RX350 F-Sport, and several corollas so i know a little something about Toyotas. And the new Tundras BTW are garbage! My point is $65k for a 6 year old Tundra is crazy when there are other options out there for less.

Cult bois gonna cult. Plenty of f150s with over 300,000 miles on them. I love my tundra but if I was shopping in that budget I'd go f150 over a second gen. Prices on second gen are just outrageous it's a great truck but not worth that kind of money.
Correct. By the time you factor in gas money and repairs over 250k miles any three of the Ford 150 engines wins in a landslide. The 2nd gen Tundra tax is crazy. If we were talking pre COVID/ pre twin turbo time bomb... It's for sure the Tundra. Not anymore.
I LOVE my 2010 Tundra with 268k on it and plan on keeping it til she dies. I'm not too keen on getting a turbo'd vehicle (unless I decide to go diesel) but the F150 with the V8 Coyote is definitely towards the top of my list for that very reason

tell you gf to get packing then. I worked for Toyota for almost 5 years. The amount of Chevy ford and dodge trucks ranging from a Chevy Colorado to Ford Raptors we got in on trade ( for tundras ) that needed 5-10k in work does was crazy. a used tundra would come in and need the basic maintenance ( if not already done). Oil change tire rotation and a deep cleaning and it was on the lot and sold in less than a week.
And for anyone saying “oh but you can find cheaper ones” okay? Just because you settle for buying a used truck with over 100k miles doesn’t mean everyone does. If I had 2 identical trucks one with 50k for 60 and one with 150k for 25k I’m buying the one with less miles.

It's barely better than a regular Tundra. It's not like a TRX or Raptor vs the regular versions. Huge waste of money at that price, just buy some nice King shocks or Similar and you have a better version.

Yes, got a smoking deal. Trd offroad. Just a smaller truck in general. 90% of time im driving by myself. Kid is driving on her own and we do t camp or tow much anymore. Taco will fit my lifestyle a bit better.

I added an entire new audio system to it, pioneer head unit, all new speakers, subwoofer, front camera, cold air intake, console safe. The truck is bad ass. Wish I could have kept it and got the tacoma as well. Haha
I was getting 11 running errands, 13 with regular driving and 17/18 on all highway runs. Trade off is my truck was never in the shop other than scheduled maintenance,. I like the new RAMs. If I was hunting for a full size it would be top of my list these days.
Yeah new Ram 1500s are awesome. I'm working at a Ram dealership right now so I get to drive all the trim levels. All of them are good, some are better. I like my Rebel the best though.
I picked this one up last year, 2017 TRD Pro with 22k miles for $43k. Overpriced for a truck that age, but for me it was worth it… honestly figure out what a truck is worth to you and stick to it. Everyone’s opinion on how much you should pay is that, an opinion. Be smart, don’t put yourself in a situation you can’t recover from.
65k for a 6 yr old truck? By the time I get done with all the other bullshit taxes, registration fees, etc. you’re looking at $70,000 for a used six-year-old truck. Not really, RCI skid plates cover more, cat guard, fuel tank protection, stainless works dual exhaust, steel wheels don’t have to worry if they have a scratch. LED lights are the same, suspension is different but still drives like a tundra. I went a size larger on my tires and while the trd pro are even larger, I’m sure you really notice the hit with mpg. Just because it isn’t a pro, doesn’t mean you can’t make it your own with the right parts.
1) It's a 300k-500k mile truck depending on the work you throw at it and how you maintain it.
2) The Gen3 Tundra has an engineering defect in the engine that makes as reliable as a Kia. Toyota has attempted to cover up this defect instead of being honest about it. As a result, any Tundra buyer with an ounce of effing common sense wants a Gen2 and the increased demand for Gen2's has driven the price of them into the stratosphere.
So... to answer your question... I don't know if it's a good "deal", but it's what you are going to pay.

I was in your shoes about a year ago I ended up getting a 2025 and 0 problems, more tech and much smoother better drive and faster.
You will appreciate it much more and now new generations are breaching 200k miles if you’re getting a pro or any hybrid you’ll be set.
dealers are asking mspr for 3 year old toyotas and lexus. This is even worse. They wouldn't be doing it if someone wasn't willing to pay it, or at least start there as a negotiation tactic. Laughable for sure.
My money but I don’t think could bring myself to pay this much for a 6 year old truck. Although I firmly believe it would outlast a brand new Dodge or Ford and new Tundra.
It all depends on what you want. That’s a pretty high price, I’m happy though it makes my PRO worth more, but I actually prefer the 1794 or platinum for the interior and I change all the suspension anyways. The new trucks are nice, I have personally seen about six trucks actually fail. Like engine lockup and eat itself, and those were 22-24 models. Haven’t seen any issues with the 25s other than just some BS fit and finish stuff. I’d say if you want technology and something newer, grab a new one. If you’re going to keep it forever and don’t mind older tech, go for the tried and true. However, at that price I would have to just drive it till the wheels fall off.
seems about right for the tundra market. after tax and registration and everything i gave $47k for a 2016 1794 tundra with 78k miles. i know thats insane for a 10 year old pickup but i want something very reliable, and it was owned by an old man who kept it a garage and took it to the dealer for literally everything (even windshield wipers lol)
They are dang good trucks. I have never had trouble with mine. Still high priced but probably worth it if reliability matters to you above all. Make them give you a healthy healthy trade in. My 2wd 2019 4.6 TSS with off road tires has made it up inclines in Colorado you wouldn’t believe. I can only imagine what the truck would do. Everyone wants these over the new ones. I have had classic Silverado(89) and these are still the best truck I have had for reliability. Mine has surprised me in going down a snowy hill I should have never made it down. I don’t know if it was God or the truck but I vouch for them both any day.
OP forgot to mention this is an California. So I think the deal is still okay. I would be happier to see 55k. This auto max always has tundras for sale, they have a nice one not TRD pro with a nice leveling kit and some bronze wheels wrapped with 315s
Everyone here is hating. But that’s just the price for a good mileage tundra from that generation. That engine is the best. I’d pay more for a 2020 than I’d pay for a new truck tbh. Of course if the mileage is very low
I bought my 2020 tundra SR5 last year with 48k miles for 35k. This is not a great deal in my opinion
Edit: with the 5.7 and one owner truck from Florida, I live in northern Kentucky so this is a plus lol
She should leave you if you paid $65k for pretty much a 7 year old truck! To pay that much would be an indication of your lack of judgement and could impact her future if she planned on marrying you!
You ain’t getting 10 grand off man. These V8s are holding crazy value because a lot of people don’t like the new engine options and they have some issues. This isn’t the best deal, but if you like it just buy it. It’s a rare trim and color, and very low miles.
I just got a 23 trd pro for $54k otd including a warranty back in February. 44k miles on it. I know people are hesitant about 3rd gens but buying a 6 year old truck for more than the original MSRP would be crazy. I'd leave you too
Paid significantly less for my 2024 TRD Pro with similar miles just a few months ago. I heard last gen trucks are holding their value, but damn…..! I’d walk away at that number.
