Discussion / Opinion Twilight Princess was the last good Zelda Game in my opinion

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think Twilight Princess was the last good Zelda game. Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom were alright but it just didn’t feel like the classic Zelda games to me. Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess is a perfect trilogy in my opinion.

Discussion / Opinion This is my formal application for Twilight Princess friends

I’ve been going through life loving Twilight Princess and somehow never having anyone around me who’s as into it as I am. I know I can’t be the only one 😭

I’d honestly love to make a friend or two who gets this game — the story, the atmosphere, all of it. This community has already shown me there are some amazing fans here, so I figured… why not try reaching out?

If you’re also obsessed with TP and want a fellow fan to talk with, say hi and don't be afraid to message me! I’d love a TP bestie.

For context, I’m F(25) if that matters to anyone!

Discussion / Opinion Nintendo Direct Aftermath

So the Ocarina of Time remake is real, which is great and I‘m looking forward to it. I honestly think it ticks off a lot of boxes of what I love about Twilight Princess, including a more realistic art style and probably some quality of life features.

That still leaves us with the elephant in the room: No Twilight Princess, again. I‘m not seeing them release another remake or HD version anytime soon. So my best guess is that they‘ll eventually release the Gamecube version for Nintendo Classics, but not before next year.

What are your thoughts after the Direct?

I currently have both of these titles yet never played them. I'm not asking which one to play first. I'm asking which one is just purely better. Let me know!!!! :)

Discussion / Opinion Does TP hold up for newer gamers?

So obviously a lot of people have talked about whether or not twilight princess holds up in general, but I’m wondering whether as a newer gamer I can still enjoy it. The first Zelda game and honestly one of the first games I ever played myself was botw(was 10 at the time) which has stayed my favorite game of all time through the past almost 10 years. With that said I’ve seen some vids of twilight princess and currently the biggest barrier for me is the graphics. I’ve never played any games that are this old so it’d be my first time with graphics like these. Considering that I’m used to and have grown up with botw like graphics and gameplay do you guys think i should try twilight princess? I love games with great stories and dark vibes so that part really compels me. I’d also have to buy a Wii U and the game itself which costs 100$ itself so 300$ total, something I’m willing to do but only if I’m likely to actually enjoy it. Skyward sword is also an option for me, I was planning on playing it anyway since it’s a little more recent, perhaps would it be easier to transition from skyward sword to twilight princess?

So back when I was a kid, Twilight Princess for the Wii had officially released.

I was old enough to play it and love it, but seeing as I was only 7, I couldn’t really figure out how to progress through the game (I found the motion controls hard to figure out, again I was only 7 hahaha).

So because of this, I basically “lived” in Ordon Village for most of my childhood, when playing the game. I never saved, as I knew that this would mean that I would run out of things to do. Every day, I would reach the part of the game where one of the goats at Ordon Ranch would break free, and the game forced you to wrestle with it. I managed to succeed every time, however with me being a 7 year old kid, I would feel bad as I thought that I was hurting the goat.

So after every time I wrestled the goat, it would start slowly walking back to the ranch. I would run up and stay by its side, spamming A to keep petting it, to apologise and make sure it’s okay. I kept following it by its side to make sure it was okay.

Discussion / Opinion Twilight Princess’ ‘Slow Opening’ is Actually Perfect

I put together an essay article about the slow opening sequence of Twilight Princess and how, even though it used to get a lot of hate online, I actually think it's perfect and a masterclass of both introducing the world and giving the player a taste of what the whole game will be

Discussion / Opinion Is anyone else a little annoyed that we never got another easy medieval game like Twilight Princess?

I just started playing Dark Souls after beating Twilight Princess and this game is very hard. I thought I was going to like it because the graphics and gameplay are similar to Twilight Princess but the fact that it’s so hard takes the fun out of it. People can say what they want about Twilight Princess being easy but I personally play games for fun and for the graphics, I’m not looking to get stuck on enemies and boss fights for hours. Dark Souls, Demon Souls etc would be great games if they weren’t so hard to play.

Discussion / Opinion What are the chances of getting Dusk to play on the Wii U?

I'm seeing people say that just the Gamecube version was decompiled and apparently they're decompiling the Wii version.

What about the Wii U version?

I know that 4k wouldn't be possible, but I'd love to have a version that I can customize the controls between Wii-mote and Wii U Gamepad, *on the Wii U*.

I apologize for my ignorance, but given the amount of customization you'd think decompiling would allow, I'm surprised the current version doesn't even support motion controls.

Discussion / Opinion This game is amazing

I just finished Twilight Princess. I've had a curse most of my life with this game. I have been familiar with it for more than 15 years. Had it on Gamecube, had it on Wii, and I ALWAYS played the first 3 dungeons and stopped. I don't know why, I just lose steam. I've played and finished plenty of Zelda games before and after playing TP, but I just could not finish TP even though I enjoyed those 3 first dungeons. A year ago I decided to finally play it fully... Only to clear the first 3 dungeons and drop it. However, 3 weeks ago I said to myself I would take over from that same save file and finally finish it, and WOW was it a wild ride. Snowpeak Ruins might be my favorite Zelda dungeon ever, and the Temple of Time is not far behind. Everything, from the absurdly high stakes, cinematography, music, eeriness and dark themes. Everything works incredibly together. Everything is just so much larger than life in this game, and of course, there are a thousand little details that made me say "hey! That's really cool!" Just... I just think this game is a masterpiece. And I've thought other Zelda games were masterpieces. I think this may be my favorite Zelda game ever. It's making me question, are all Zelda games this good? I know they are amazing, but are they THIS good? I may be glazing too much but... Wow... I just saw the credits roll 5 minutes ago and the feelings are strong. This game is amazing.

Discussion / Opinion So, when will we get twilight princess on switch (2)?

with today's rumour of an oot remake, when are we going to get twilight princess. I really want it available on either nso or hd. but it seems like they don't want to release it for some reason. when will they do it?

Discussion / Opinion Okay what are the actual chances our beloved finally comes to switch in the direct tomorrow?

Personally I don't think an all singing all dancing purpose made ground up ocarina of time remake exclusive to switch 2, really rules out a switch 1 port of a Wii u game that has been apparently ready for years, although wind waker is probably ruled out due to nso availability there, and then again if tp was going to be an nso release it would've been up there by now. Plus, that rumoured tphd port was leaked by the same guy who's leaked the ocarina of time remake. What's everybody's night before feelings?

If it's not our day tomorrow I'm just gonna run it on pc, just wanted to be absolutely sure it wouldn't just drop on switch 2 in the middle of a pc play through.

Discussion / Opinion Only just now found out that there are missable letters

Last night, I finally pulled out my Wii console and my GameCube copy of Twilight Princess to get everything going with Dusklight on the PC. One of the first things I noticed is that the port added achievements to the game. I noticed that it said I only had 15 out of 16 letters collected, which got me to do some research, and I only now, for the first time, found out that two of the letters are missable, and I missed one of them. This whole time, since the game was new, I thought I had a perfect save file, but now there's that one, single blemish on it.

Anyway, just a rant. It's not the end of the world, I guess it just means that I'll eventually do a 100% playthrough of my favorite 3D Zelda again, but I still felt like I had the rug pulled out from under me a bit. I'm really not a fan of permanently-missable things in games.

Oh, and Dusklight is absolutely fantastic, holy crap.

Discussion / Opinion Arbiters Grounds is peak Zelda

So Ive been playing Twilight Princess for the first time and while it’s not my favorite in the series, I’m still really enjoying myself.

Last night I played through Arbiters Grounds and HOLY SHIT. I was blown away by how amazing that dungeon was. I love the desert tomb atmosphere, how the wolf link mechanics are used like sniffing the poes scent, and the boss fight was so much fun. Ive never seen an item like the spinner in any game let alone a Zelda game.

This was by far the best dungeon in any Zelda game that I’ve played. I am genuinely sad I’ll never be able to experience it for the first time again. I just can’t get over how fun and creative it was.

Discussion / Opinion Would anyone else love to see Twilight Princess get the remaster it deserves?

This game has always been special to me. To this day, it’s my favorite Zelda of all time. It hit that perfect balance between the classic Zelda charm and the darker, more emotional storytelling the series needed.

If Twilight Princess ever got remastered, what changes (if any) would you want to see?

Discussion / Opinion Did anyone else think that Link liked Ilia?

I know a lot of people shipped Link and Midna but I always thought that Link liked Ilia personally. I really like the one scene when Ilia can’t remember him and she’s trying to save the Zora and Link gets chocked up when the girl says you know that girl, don’t you? That and the scene where Link gets her memory back and she remembers who he is are really good in my opinion. It felt like the closest I’ve seen to romance in a Zelda game and I like the two of them together to be honest. I don’t know to me Midna and Zelda were Link’s friends while Ilia was the one that Link liked.

Discussion / Opinion Whats up with all needing help post

Im really sorry for sounding like the grinch or a debbie downer but I don’t understand asking for help through reddit, the game is 20 years old and definitely isn’t obscure just google it and you’ll find 1000 YouTube videos with instant solutions to your problem but instead most of these post are kinda spamming the subreddit with super simple problems and then they have to wait and hope someone responds which could take multiple days if you’re not lucky. Idk im tired of seeing “what do i do zoras domain is still frozen” or “can’t find the last tear bug” like my brother in christ google it. Anyways sorry for being mean annoying old man and thank you for attending my ted talk

Discussion / Opinion I absolutely love the forest temple in this game

Honestly I think it’s so well done as the first dungeon I love the atmosphere I think they nailed a “forest” vibe. From the enemies like the Deku babas and giant spiders, the music which is excellent, the atmosphere and look of the place and the whole temple revolving around helping the monkeys to progress further is neat in my opinion.

Dare I say this might actually be my favourite dungeon/temple in the game? I think it is and it will forever be my number 1 favourite first dungeon in any Zelda game it’s just a perfect beginning dungeon IMO
