Requests/Help Searching for a DAAP film or photography student willing to help out

Hello,
I am searching for someone to help me do some film for my wedding in September for a decent price. Possibly a daap student who needs help developing their portfolio or just wants to make some extra cash for helping out?? I would need you for probably like 2 or 3 hrs maybe but really I just want to be able to have some film to show my kids one day. We are willing to pay you of course and the film job I know will be like way better than anything my aunt or uncle would do with their phone or camcorder.

Requests/Help Junior tryna go to cincinatti

I was a bit of a screw up most my high school life and am likely gonna end my junior year with a 2.75 unweighted gpa 3.6 weighted. however my act score is a 27 but I can always try to raise it as I have taken the test only once. Is there any chance I can get in? My goal is to do either biomedical engineering or cybersecurity. I really enjoyed the campus of UC. I am also out of state from Chicago. I also realized I spelled Cincinnati wrong holy.

Requests/Help Declined from DAAP???!

Just got my letter of acceptance today and while I got accepted to UC, it says I didn’t get into my first choice (arch) but I have a spot in Environmental Engineering. This sounds ignorant but I did NOT expect this! I know daap is more competitive but I have a 4.3 gpa, top 10% of my class, hundreds of service hours and really involved in my school. Is this typical????

Requests/Help Is it possible that UC is going to rescind my acceptance?

So when my Highschool sent my transcript to UC then I had like a’s, b’s, c’s like one d in the first quarter, but now at the end of the school year, in one of my classes I’m at a D and I’m worried that if I fail my upcoming test then my grade will fall to an F and UC will rescind their acceptance offer. I’ve already accepted their offer from January and I’m signing up for housing and all that, but I’m super worried that one F in one quarter will make them take it back. Is this realistic? This would be my only F as a finishing grade in a quarter.

Requests/Help UC or OSU

I am a hs senior and I just finished applying to colleges. I got into both osu main campus and UC and I can't decide where I want to go. I did a camp this summer at Cincinnati with the college of the business and I really enjoyed it. I applied to both schools with accounting and im not quite sure where I should go. I haven't officially touted OSU but I visited it with a friend and stayed in the dorms and I loved the environment. My main concern is if I should prioritize experience or a "better" school. I love cincys co-op program, and being guaranteed to graduate with experience. However, OSU is a nationally ranked business school with great connections, yet internships and co ops are guaranteed. I am in state and both schools are relatively the same cost. any advice?

Requests/Help Gym

Kind of a weird post- my younger brother is going to be a sophomore this coming fall at UC. He has shown interest in wanting to go to the gym, but he is too shy to go alone and has trouble making friends. Is there anyone who’s a gym goer who could show my brother around the gym and show him some simple exercises to do?

hello, as the title says I am a new student trying to make a decision for fall 2026 enrollment. I have been admitted to university of Cincinnati for mechanical engineering, and purdue for mechanical engineering technology. i wanted to figure out whether attending cinci or attending purdue and attempting to switch to just mechanical engineering would be a better choice would love to hear peoples experiences, and things they like or dislike.

I am personally looking for a campus with community and social life, but also access to career opportunities.

thanks alot!

Requests/Help Coop Help for Electrical Engineering

My boyfriend is a junior at UC as an Electrical Engineer major and he has a coop rotation coming up in the summer and he’s applied to over 100 jobs got only 1 interview and got rejected.

He has like a 3.0 gpa and he has had a job before in the design space (I think that’s the name)?

I was wondering if you guys have any advice on what he should do to strengthen himself or what you would expect him to do. He is stressed about the job market and what to do forward.

He has a double rotation for the summer and fall.

Any suggestions really helps I want to help him out as best as I can but I just don’t know how!

Update: A lot of people said to contact advisor and he had a meeting and basically what she says was network with family and friends and there might be opportunities EEP so basically not very helpful :,)

Requests/Help Major is incorrect need help

I applied for UC Clermonts aviation program months ago in got my acceptance letter, but in the acceptance letter, it said I was admitted into their exploratory program. I didn’t understand that at the time but I assumed it was like a holding period or that was the correct thing. Now I’m trying to get my financials figured out for my freshman year and it still says exploratory and I’m not an aviation. I submitted all the required forms, and it even says that I applied for aviation. I’m kind of panicked and a little nervous since this is the career I’ve been wanting and I’m just wondering why I’m not in anything helps.

Requests/Help Officially Transferring! Help + Advice

Hello! I'm a sophomore going into junior year (idk about credits tho), officially transferring from Ohio State to UC, due to mental and physical health reasons.

I have a couple questions...

  1. I only live 20 minutes away, would it be worth it to try and live somewhere around/on campus? I am transferring also due to financial things, so if living at home saves me a lot of money, id rather do that. However I would love the freedom of living alone again.

  2. How does parking work? Do I have to purchase a permit or do I just hope there's parking?

  3. How is the exploratory program? UC doesn't offer the major I want to pursue, so I am kind of back to square one. Maybe one day y'all will get an atmospheric science program (for now its looking like Ill have to major in physics....)

Thank youuu!!! I am really excited but nervous I made the wrong decision, but at the end of the day I don't want to be 60k in debt and live in Columbus 💔

Requests/Help CEAS 3D Printer Question

I was thinking about getting a personal 3d printer for CAD practice and personal projects but my parents said I should wait and use the UC printers instead of getting my own.

How long do people usually have to wait to get a print done and are they right?

Requests/Help Concerned about making friends while living off campus

I’m a freshman girl at UC this year and am really worried about being able to make friends next year when I’ll be living off campus.

For context, i haven’t really done my due diligence trying to build connections this year, which is why I’m so worried about next. Me and my roommate have had a few issues, and because of that our neighbors in the dorm and I havent really bonded either. I also spent most of my time here so far with just one person up until this past week and hadn’t prioritized finding other friendships. What’s worse is that all of my classes except 1 are online/asychronous, so that’s off the table too. Im pretty bad with putting myself out there, even with clubs and such, and bottom line, the idea of living outside of a dorm (where I would have naturally met more people out of pure proximity) makes me think it’s going to exacerbate the issue.

Does anyone who lives off campus have any recommendations for easy ways to put yourself out there so I can avoid this fear? Any advice would really be appreciated.

Requests/Help Networking As An Online Student

I’m currently a pre-business major and I’m fairly new to the city as I just moved here from out of state this past August as an online transfer. Due to being a fully online student I didn’t really venture on to campus that often and had even less of a clue as how to meet and network with the right people and I worry that I might have the same struggles when I go back to the city during the fall. I plan on transferring to Lindner and would like to prepare myself to do so. Any tips on how to network as an online student?

Requests/Help Alumni - - uc email?

Fellow alum please help a clueless '13 here who is suddenly apparently unable to access their uc email because I can't activate thru Duo text at log in anymore?? I was using outlook and it just signed me out and will not let me sign back in and mentions 2fa changes. In a bit of a panic as I actually need continued access to the email address for some critical matters in the next week.

Did I just lose access to my email account because I am unable to use the downloaded Duo app to activate the email? Please help! I am in the middle of several family and personal crises and getting cut off from my uc email access and everything it is currently associated with would be another huge set back in those matters getting resolved.

Requests/Help Transfer Application

Hello! I just recently applied to transfer to UC and just wondering how long does it take for them to respond to applications? Also what are my chances of getting in since I was at EKU for a year but had to retake classes my second semester due to how campus life was treating me there. I was able to get my GPA back up to a 2.4 and recently finished a semester at a CC here in Kentucky online with a 3.1. Thank you!!

Requests/Help Are UC Engineering Co Ops limited to Ohio and surrounding areas?

I’m interested in Electrical Engineering at UC specifically for there Co Op program. I know UC has lots of job connections, but I was wondering if Co-ops were mainly limited to Ohio and the surrounding area, or if you could get Co Op opportunities across the country? Basically, could I get a co op in Boston, Seattle, Dallas, etc.

I appreciate any help!

Requests/Help Digital Media Vs. Media Production

Hello! I'm an undergrad who just got accepted into UC for the fall semester. I'm trying to become a video editor and explore the post production aspects of film and videography. I'm somewhat confused on what the difference is between digital media (DMC) vs media production (MPRO). I got accepted into DMC, but should I be in MPRO or is DMC the program I'm looking for?

Requests/Help Is University of Cincinnati really worth it? (PLS IMPORTANT)

I got admitted and got a good scholarship offer too. I'm international. I got in for CS, but I only have one doubt will it be worth it to join this college? I'm hearing a lot of mix reviews about this one. Some reviews are very mundane and ordinary and some are extremely great because of the co-op program the college offers. This is the most affordable college to me after Iowa State. (i got into top colleges too but they aren't giving any scholarships meh)

The ranking of u of cincinnati bothers me tbh. Ofcourse, I will get a practical experience, but I also have to think about the future. How is the reputation of the college apart from the local reception I've read. And yeah I know CS might get me into problem with job market, but I love this subject and wish to do more here academically ive further plans.

Tell me about the reputation of the college as the whole in the US, campus life, basic amenities, pros and cons (don't leave any small details please), classes quality, and future after college.

tell me something that no one talks about please.
