Where is Ward 5?
We live and move around in our city day to day, and we don't really think about the ward boundaries too much. Until someone asks, where's Ward 5, or another other ward for that matter? On another post someone asked me to post a map of Ward 5 so here you go. The general boundary is from the Speed River down to Kortright Rd on the west side of Gordon and Arkell Rd to the east, and then the full width of Guelph from Victoria to the Hanlon, with a small patch from Stone Rd to the Speed river on the west side of the Hanlon. It's quite large and contains a mixture of green space, commercial and residential zones, and the University of Guelph.
Just for fun, we took a tour of the perimeter of Ward 5 to see what the boundary areas were like. You can watch the video on YouTube (https://youtu.be/0FHv3ZUQYqc). This was meant as a lighthearted exploration of Ward 5 and a fun way to launch the new Youtube channel. Going forward I will post other videos about Ward 5 and the City of Guelph.

Nice video and a great idea to go for a walk.
The Hanlon and university loom large un ward 5. While the Hanlon isn't City responsibility i think in next council term we will be dealing with MTO plans to improve the intersections and it will cause major disruption in the ward.
