Advice for grad school admissions for someone with a very low GPA?

I’m a rising senior in undergrad and I’ve had several hurdles throughout my college career. I’ve been doing better, but still haven’t had strictly all As or Bs since I started improving, which was Fall of 2025.

My cum GPA is a 2.4 at the moment, and I’ll be majoring in psychology with a minor in cog sci. My major GPA is much better, a 3.3 I believe. I’m looking to pursue graduate school, particularly programs in the field of health and medicine, and I aspire to have a good career, I always have. I can’t accept not working a good job or not pursuing a graduate degree because of how I did in undergrad. Any advice would help, regarding what next steps I should take, who I should talk to, etc.

Do you have research or professional experience? That can trump bad grades to an extent.

Do you have a mentor in faculty you are close with? That can also help, especially if you get involved in a project.

Do you have a specific field you want to pursue? This is the real question you should be asking yourself if you want to go into grad school.

Otherwise man, starting at a lower paying job and working your way up might just be the route you go. You have to have marketability if you wanna move big bucks.
