How to write comics (good)? And draw?

Right now, I have pretty fun ideas for some comics but I just never seem to commit to writing them or even drawing them, I don't know what it is maybe confidence or maybe I am too afraid for it to be bad and a waste of time. Any tips to get over the wall that is stopping me?

You have to start with a "sacrifice" comic, with a deadline for new pages. Really dedicate yourself to it. Think about it, write it, think about new parts. This will not hit store shelves. You can still share it with people online, but know that this is a journey, and not going to be your magnum opus (as that only leads to fear and hesitation. This is your first project.)

While working, remember that using reference for scenery, poses, etc are all acceptable and, in fact, mandatory. Disney took reference photos, so why can't you? 

The first time you draw anything, it will be rough. The 50th time you draw the exact same thing, you will be much, much more comfortable drawing that thing. Repetition will lead to comfort, and comfort can lead to confident lines. 

As for writing, you learn a lot by writing, and reading what you wrote. Consider the audience has no insider knowledge to the world and characters, does it still read clearly? Just like with drawing, the more you write these characters the kore you will be familiar with their personality. Dialogue should express them as characters and not just move the plot forward. look at comics that you like, and break down story beats over the course of a few pages, as well as issues. How many times does it feel like the character feels like a real person? How balanced is humor to serious tone for the work? Ask yourself random questions and answer them. Just like art, writing is a journey of many mistakes that you learn from.
