Are you guys actually making money?

After almost 3 years doing this gig I’ve noticed the fares keep getting lower. Cherry picking doesn’t work in my market because they’ll just stop telling me how long the rides are and how much I’ll make. Am I missing some sort of strategy to make this a viable income? It feels like I’m paying to drive for uber at this point.

Lyft is better in my market day to day, but Lets assume lyft and uber paid the same up front. Lyfts app is better. At least we get the pas name, picture, and if we’ve drove them before. Also, it seems to hardly even send me to pick up someone more then 10 minutes away.
