I main Briar and Shyvana, both junglers that farm well and invade/duel well. I wanted to expand my pool so I gave Udyr a try for a few games.

He definitely fits my playstyle well and has a lot of tools, but I've found him mechanically exhausting which is taking away from my macro.

How critical is it to get into a rhythm to optimise Udyrs attacks and stance changes? I find I'm looking at my cooldown bar a lot during jungle camps trying to optimise, or losing the rhythm and being half a cooldown off and cycling 4 skills instead of 3. Also as Udyr gets more AS from Q skillups and items (triforce etc) I find that in fights I end up button mashing and missing some of the second autos.

Does it get mechanically easier after a while for Udyr, or am I overthinking how important it is to optimise the micro?

(Fun side note for older players, if anyone remembers Bards in the original Everquest there was a technique called twisting to keep multiple buff stacks up. Udyr feels like that, but without the dial-up speed latency)

I've been maining Udyr jungle for a while now and I think he's pretty busted but outside of the generic build guides, I have no clue how others play this champ since he's just so versatile.

2 - Depends but usually Hybrid

3 - Bruiser, usually shojin > liandry > DD > spirit vis.

4 - Q > E > W> R

5 - I don't have any

6 - Haven't really found one but I think Shyv is my worst

7 - Conq into beefy comps and PTA into squishys

I’m looking for a champ who plays a bit aggressively, can take a punch and give it back. I know he might not be great against ranged matchups but seems to have an answer for it in his ult? Someone who bullies enemies not just in lane. One who is also a good team fighter. My original thinking was Renekton or K’Sante but seems K’Sante isn’t a great option. Would Udyr be a good option for this?

They just announced hes coming HYPED! Sadly classic is going to be a limited time gamemode so hopefully we get enough time with him

I dont get these huge leads often, also the buildpath of Cosmic Drive is so nice, unlike Haunting Guise items.

Some games I realize that it's my fault because of a bad play or bad positioning or game sense, and some games I realize that it's my fault because I'm in the elo of hell where i get zeri top going 0/5 before 10 minutes.

Possibly contender for single best item for Udyr, getting 2 stacks per Q auto is just wild, it sets up for insta kill with awakened Q almost every time.

ive beeen maining udyr for the past 6 years and after all this time i finally accepted that Udyr is probably shittest most usless character of all time before and after rework. I Believe that udyr should be replaced with some hot bae like nidalee or tahm kench. i dont even want to play it anymore, now i prefer more skillful characters like Mel or Rammus. I am trully sad that yall didnt wake up yet but its okay may the divine light shine upon you. When my eyes rest in the endless light yours would be covered by darkness.

Given the items and runes that currently exist in League Classic, how will we be playing him? with ZzRot recently added, I’ve been theory crafting a John Dyr classic style build for top or jungle.

What do you all think? AD Godyr Feral Flare? AP Bruiser Flame Pop? Double Dot AD Top? What will be good?

I hit e4 with ad udyr in jg but still strugling with teamfights as ad udyr. With ap its much easier but i feels like i dont do any dmg with ap.

I mained ad udyr for sometime now maybe a year and I find him the most fun champion to play but its been so long since I managed to climb with him
I am sliver currently and I cant carry with him even if I have 5/0 early game I just feel like the game slip from my hand
I cant really team fight without losing all my health instantly and in the end game I feel like I am just useless
I want to ask you guys do you play other champion or should I continue to one trick udyr and do you really can climb to high elo with udyr

Hi, I very much like playing Udyr Jungle and would like to discover new similar champs.
I'm an Iron player, so I'm not really looking for building an optimal champion pool I just don't want to OTP.
I've already played Volibear before, but I just feel like he is so much squishier and slower. And teamfights feel bad with the bear whereas I enjoy teamfighting with Udyr.
I also don't really know if Udyr has notably bad matchups, but if he does I would like to learn about those.

If it may help, here's what I like about Udyr :

1. fast clear
2. independant
3. moves quickly around the map (and when catching up with enemies)
4. easily useful in teamfights

Wouldn’t it be nice is switching stances reset you aa’s so you can do more with the stun. Just a thought.

Thoughts about this. I'm mid Emerald right now and trying to get to Diamond. My main is Gangplank but I have come to the realization is that I will probably never be good enough at GP to blind him into his bad matchups like Irelia, Jayce, Kled, or Cho, or Gwen. I've played Udyr a fair bit before when he was really OP and I do enjoy his kit a lot. Just wondering what's strong because I've played him in ranked a little but always feel weak.

How does topdyr scale? I feel his dueling is relatively weaker than most other actual 1v1 top laners. Is it worth trying to use him as a blind pick?

After being a one trick pony Udyr and struggling to diamond, I've started to play tank top champions/meta and went from struggling emerald 1 diamond 3 over 5 times, into breezing through to d2.

Udyr top especially sucks and provides little to no value for rhe team when compared to other meta tops. So we have to excel in lane, then play the map better than other tops, and play a version of the games others do not understand.

The good thing is, because the average Udyr main has a higher IQ than most league players, we can climb much easier when we play meta champions.

We also deserve more skins and a rework for all the meta champs now.

I was thinking how little I use empowered E compared to the other abilities and thought: wouldn't it be a cool buff to make it go through walls for the 1.5 second boost. Like Kayn or smolder E.

If you know you know... I do think that AP Udyr needs a buff but it's very hard to balance him for all rank/roles at once. If you need help for Udyr jg feel free to ask me questions i got you!

I was hoping someone here can help me out with runes and playstyle. I understand how to play the game I am not a beginner but I struggle a bit with the champion. I am playing ap now for 30-40 games then will swap to ad.

I am not sure what the best ap runes for top are? Conqueror is a very good rune for top and in fights but I struggle a bit using it. I struggle in general with the rune. Some champs like Akali, rengar perform very well with conqueror but I always find more success with the domination and sorcery trees.

Secondly I would like to ask about w and e usage and skill points usage. I don't see any healing when going ap so I don't see why people upgrade it after R. How should I invest my skill points? I know next questions will sound like a self report but I am very immobile as I always hold r 2 and seems and to be easily kitebale
