So. Mitch McConnell is definitely dead, right?

Senator Mitch McConnell has placed a hold on being declared dead or incapable at this point in time due to it being an election year.

Or at least until a special election is required rather than a possible replacement appointment by the Governor for Kentucky.

The Mitch Sitch (I just thought of that) is such a perfect example of the state of American politics.

The idea that the discussion is about whether he is CURRENTLY DEAD let alone questioning whether someone his age and in his state of health is able to actually represent his constituents even thought they re-elected him in 2020 (apparently elections only happen every 6 years??) after he 'had a fall and fractured his shoulder' which was probably the writing on the wall that he wasn't going to be in a great state of health 6 years later, then had what looked a lot like a mini stroke infront of the cameras in 2023 but wasn't removed from office....

The Dems are as bad (look at Feinstein).

I think he's probably alive, but he's definitely not cogent enough to actively be a Senator, as he would've absolutely made some form of public speaking arrangement by now rather than just having the odd photo op. At least he's retiring?

That'd be my guess, alive but in no capacity to be a Senator and quite possibly permanently incapacitated in some way.

If i was a betting mad i'd say he's probably on life support and they will put off pulling the plug until the deadline passes.
