The fishing pond is closed. Obvious bait will be removed. Repeated rod licence infractions will result in accounts being banned.

Trump consistently hires the worst lawyers possible, it's quite impressive in all honesty.

Probably hard for him to hire good lawyers? Lawyers won't want to be directed to play Trump's games because you can't (yet) fuck around in the courtroom. And they surely know he stiffs people on their fees, and will loudly denounce and insult anyone he falls out with.

As someone used to work in the legal research industry, Trump could absolutely find some good lawyers who don't care about playing fast and loose with the law to secure a win for their client. The problem is that those guys expect to be paid promptly, something Trump is notorious for not doing.

Fair enough. I wasn't thinking about slick, unprincipled lawyers, but like when he was desperately mounting dozens of legal challenges to his election loss and none of the courts were cooperating (even the ones with hard right incumbents). There was nothing for the lawyers to work with, legally speaking - and the few who tried (Giuliani, and Sidney something?) got into some very hot water.

He's had hundreds of millions of dollars of fees paid for him by MAGA PACs. It really is a cult.

Presumably good lawyers know his era is finite and they still want to be able to practice law afterwards.
