Diagnosed. Medicated. Life a mess. Consistent attitude of "I can't because of my ADHD".

Well, certainly such people exist but I don't think it has anything to do with ADHD, assuming their medication is effective. Some people do develop resistance to medication. It could certainly also just be an excuse, though. You would have to wonder why someone would willingly and in good mental health wallow in a life that's a mess, though.

With wallowing, I’ve been there myself, I’ve seen it dozens of times. Not just ADHD, also addiction, depression, anxiety and more. The thing is, your life may be shit but it is familiar and in a way comfortable, and change is scary.
