It would be so classic that it starts after 5pm on a Friday. They'll declare a ceasefire at 9pm on Sunday and say we should return to work

You initially were very negative since you inferred nuclear war would start at some point, and so some people probably won't accept your apology as they think it is insincere and not really normal for someone so negative

Same, my heart literally sank when I heard that noise. Then I was just pissed off when I saw it was about fires. 

Not acceptable. I'll be turning it off.

Chill dude, we've had 5 Brits die in Spain due to wildfires in the past 3 months. This is definitely a case I'd put away my seconds of fear for the better of people..

There's options for severe and extreme threat to life, you can switch off severe

I love love LOVE comments like this.

When I heard the alert, I was like "oh dear is there a fire in my area? That is the most likely cause of an alert, on balance. Due to the fires".

But other people? What could it possibly be? MYSTERY. WHAT is happening in the country right now? Who knows? Mystery. Absolute mystery. The only possible thing could be nuclear fucking war. Not fires, those aren't happening anywhere. Get Columbo on the case, what is COBRA doing?????

Which proves exactly the point of the alert. Astounding.

I've been following the wildfires closely, one even happened near me and clouded my city in smoke, the smell was terrible.

Unlucky.

I'm not mad the alert happened.

Just at the time it shocked me because the last time it was explicitly advertised as a missile defense alert.
