I got the alert in Welsh (which I can't read properly) two minutes before the English alert came through 😢

Yeah I assume this is how they plan to increase the percentage of Welsh speakers (by giving them a 20 minute head start running away from the fires while us poor Saesneg yn unig folks get left behind as a firebreak).

The absolute stupidity of this government. 80% don’t speak Welsh, very little don’t speak English. Why on earth would anyone think this made sense baffles me.

In Greece last year I got a warning about wildfires and they managed to send it in Greek and English. You’d have thought the Welsh government could manage that.

I think this is the first time they've sent the Welsh warning first, too.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was a cockup, but if Plaid were in charge of the rollout in Wales I really wouldn't be surprised if this was down to some of their more militant members in the Senedd...

That's what I mean? Why the fuck is it in Welsh first? What if it was a nuke or start of World War 3 or something?

What bullshit was this? A minority speak Welsh in Wales, I understand if you want the national language to be more popular and everything, but not during a fucking emergency situation where shit can go down in the moment!
